Asheville, NC is making a stab at becoming on the United States' most talked-about electronic music scenes by once again hosting the Moogfest music festival. This year, the event will feature performances from electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk, as well as Chic. Giorgio Moroder, Dan Deacon and Darkstar are some of the other musicians announced thus far. More than 70 additional performers are expected to be named over the next several weeks. -

Disco took it rougher than most genres when it fell from popularity more than 30 years ago. However some recent developments have brought the genre back to...no quite hip, but getting there. The year's top-selling single thus far, Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" featured contributions from Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers, whose band was at the peak of its popularity during the late '70s (although Chic is one of the few disco acts that has always been chic).
