• Fresh Island Festival 2015 Lineup Phase 1: Joey Bada$$, Migos, Tinashe and Danny Brown Headlining

    January is the season for festival lineup announcements and Fresh Island Festival in Croatia — where else? — is here to share its. Normally when one thinks about beach parties and festivals, DJs spinning downtempo house music until the early morning comes to mind, like the just-completed BPM Festival in Mexico. But Fresh Island is flipping that idea on its head with a hip-hop-centered festival with a splash of EDM-tinged trap music in what it claims is "Europe's No. 1 hip-hop beach festival." FIF released the first phase of acts in a newsletter for who will be joining the festival this summer, and the headliners include Danny Brown, Migos, Joey Bada$$ and Tinashe.

Entering its fourth year, the dance cruise just completed its first journey from Miami with Djs like A-Trak, Pretty Lights, Laidback Luke, Flume, Duke Dumont, Rl Grime, Gorgon City and others were brought along for the four-day voyage. 2015 saw the cruise expand to two seafaring expeditions out of Miami, but according to an interview by Revolt with Gary Richards, the founder of Hard Events, which hosts Holy Ship!, the promoter has their sites on another market, Europe, specifically the Mediterranean.

If you'd like some context, it's about two minutes longer than the entirety of Illmatic.

Even at just 2 minutes and 28 seconds, Danny Brown and Action Bronson have a blast rapping in to the video, keeping with the theme of violence and dominating your opponents, flowing effortlessly over a haunting production.

California indie rock group, The Neighbourhood, have dropped their new mixtape, perplexingly titled '#000000 & #ffffff' (not entirely sure how that's supposed to be pronounced), which you can download for free right now.

    Eminem brought together the most notable rappers from his hometown for the final track, "Detroit Vs. Everybody" on his label Shady Records' upcoming two-disc ShadyXV compilation. Repping the Motor City, singer Dej Loaf takes on the hook while Royce Da 5'9", Big Sean, Danny Brown, and Eminem take on verses with "the godfather Trick Trick" closing the track down. The only non-Detroit artist associated with the track is Massachusetts producer Statik Selektah.

    Though Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky is just 25 years old and has only a single album to his name (2013's Long. Live. A$AP), he's apparently done enough during his short career to warrant a documentary about his life and rise to fame. The documentary is titled SVDDXNLY and has been helmed by Noisey, who released the film's trailer today, which you can watch below. Noisey also released a statement about the film.
