Two of this year's biggest new acts appear to be coming together for the 2014 BRIT Awards, according to a hint on Twitter. Earlier today, the BRIT Awards posted a photo of Lorde, whose face is outlined a la Disclosure, with the tags "#BRITs2014 and "@disclosure @lordemusic." -
Kendrick Lamar, Disclosure (maybe Busta Rhymes?) to feature on Q-Tip's 'The Last Zulu'
More clues as to the nature of Q-Tip's forthcoming album, possibly titled The Last Zulu, came out on Instagram the other day, as the rapper uploaded a photo of himself with Guy and Howard Lawrence of electronic act Disclosure. -

Brit Awards announce 2014 nominees including One Direction, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry [Full List]
Awards Season has officially begun. The Grammys are just weeks away, and now the nominees for the 2014 Brit Awards have been announces. At the top of the list are two British acts, Disclosure (collaborator Sam Smith just won BBC's Sound of 2014) and Bastille, who have four nominations each. Despite not being up for any Grammy nominations (likely due to not being eligible this year), One Direction has been nominated as well for British Single and British Group. -

If you roll your eyes at the term "blogosphere," at least acknowledge the truth the music world on the internet is vastly different from real-life music. The most telling example is Hype Machine's yearly 'Music Blog Zeitgeist,' which counts down the Top 50 performers based on how often they're mentioned in over 820 prominent music blogs. Hint: Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Eminem, Jay Z and Katy Perry didn't make the list. -

SPIN Magazine, one of our most trusted sources for music across many genres, has released its annual list of the best 50 albums of the year. Yes, it's a bit early (not going to give Britney Spears a fair shot guys?), but we're sure they're just trying to beat the holiday rush (you'll be able to check out Music Times' albums of the year list on December 23, and our staffers' respective playlists of the year on December 16). The top album is something you've definitely heard of, but may still come as a surprise. -

We've all heard about Kanye West's ego, but it looks like Azealia Banks is looking to give him a run for his money. More specifically, she challenged him to be as awesome as she was, suggesting that he couldn't produce anything as lofty as her debut, Broke With Expensive Taste, which will come out during 2014.
