Music Times, like so many other music publications, was looking to publish a "Best of 2013" playlist. We met to discuss what such a playlist should include, and that's where we ran into trouble. We couldn't agree. Sometimes two of us just couldn't agree on whether the performer was amazing or terrible, and even when we agreed they were amazing, we couldn't agree on what track was most representative of their work. Hence it was decided that rather than try to agree (a seemingly impossible endeavor), everyone would get their own "favorites of 2013" playlist. We won't argue that these are neccesarily the best tracks of the last year, but they're definitely songs that caught our respective attention and caused us to hit 'repeat" over and over and over again -

For some odd reason, Christmas singles don't sell. Although the Billboard 200 was full of suddenly-popular CD's containing boatloads of "chestnuts," the Digital Downloads Top 10 didn't reflect the same. Which isn't to say that popular music downloads did particularly well either. -

It's good to be the hottest boy band in the world. Today (Dec. 1), it was announced that One Direction have the hottest selling record of 2013 in their home country of the United Kingdom, and the "Story of my Life" group are also aiming for a huge debut in the United States. -

Did you see Will Farrell as Ron Burgundy ask Eminem at the MTV European Awards how he felt about Dutch DJ Afrojack "talking sh*t" about him? Well if you don't recall, Eminem said, "Who?" Apparently that response has triggered some major trolling on Afrojack's social media pages, especially Facebook, according to SPIN. -
Eminem's 'The Monster' and Lorde's 'Royals' still biggest names on Digital Downloads Charts
Album sales may have been down over on the Billboard 200, but singles downloads continued to be hot over on the Digital Downloads charts. The Top 10 sold a combined 5,000 more downloads than last week-a slight rise-but still impressive considering the recent increase in mp3 sales.
