Just a few days in to her jail stint, Teresa Giudice has reportedly come to understand what many former inmates could have told her, the food at Danbury Federal Prison is lousy. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is hoping to eventually get a job working in the kitchen so that she can help to improve the quality of the bland food that is being served. Obviously, the food isn't the only major lifestyle change that Giudice is adjusting to this week. -
Teresa Giudice Called Melissa and Joe Gorga Hours Before Turning Herself In to Blame Them for Her Situation
For a while it looked like Teresa Giudice might have finally made peace with her brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Melissa Gorga, didn't it? The last season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey showed the formerly estranged family getting along and acting normal. The Gorgas were constantly showing support for Giudice, but in the months since she was sentenced to 15 months in prison, there has been silence. As it turns out, things were not quite as cool as it seemed when they were filming, and in her final weeks of freedom Giudice started blaming everyone for her fate, including the Gorgas.According to a report by Radar Online, Giudice made a number of calls before reporting to prison early Monday morning, Jan. 5, and one of those was to her brother and Melissa:"Teresa called many people the night before she went to prison. Two of the people she called happened to be Melissa and Joe. She was insistent that they were partially to blame for her jail sentence because they came on the Real Housewives of New Jersey and made her look bad. The conversation did end amicably. However, it obviously wasn't a positive thing to have her pointing blame for her legal issues in their direction." -
'RHONJ' Teresa Giudice Has Turned Herself in to Danbury Federal Prison to Begin Serving 15-Month Sentence
The first day of the next 15 months of Teresa Giudice's life has finally arrived. "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star turned herself in to Danbury Federal Correctional Institution at around 3 a.m. this morning, Jan. 5, accompanied by her attorney, James J. Leonard Jr. Her husband, Joe Giudice, stayed behind with the couple's four children, no doubt one of the hardest days of their lives. When asked about Giudice's mindset this morning, Leonard claims his client actually was holding up well, all things considered. He told northjersey.com that Giudice was:"Very, very strong. Very, what I would say is, very anxious to get this thing started and very anxious to get it behind her. In all of my discussions with her, her singular focus has been on her four children. She's never talked about what is this gonna be like for me. Always her concern is with her children, not with herself. We worked it out with the prison. They wanted her to report at 3 a.m. We actually got to Danbury at about a quarter to 2. Then we went and found a diner and had something to eat. We just talked and then when we were done, we went to the prison."Leonard also said the prison staff was kind to Giudice and answered her questions about visitation and phone calls. No doubt this is the start of reality finally hitting the reality star and her kids as well. Her oldest daughter, Gia Giudice, has already shown some understandable emotional cracks, and this past weekend was tough on the 13-year-old. -
'RHOA' Phaedra Parks Insists She Was Faithful to Apollo Nida, Will Always Love Him
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta's" Phaedra Parks has been dealing with the fallout from her imploding marriage and then watching her husband Apollo Nida turn himself in to begin serving an eight-year prison term in just the last several months alone. She has had more than enough on her plate, not to mention a plethora of messy feelings to sort through when rumors made things even tougher.According to a variety of sources, not too long ago the gossip mill started buzzing with a story about Parks cheating on Nida. She has always tried to carry herself well, and that has been tricky while living her life under a microscope, and while there are many things Parks will not respond to, this allegation was different."It's very hard to be in the public eye, under such public scrutiny, have the type of trauma that I'm having in my personal life, and have it aired for everyone [to] make their own crazy suggestions. It was very troubling. For one moment, I broke my Southern belle code and whipped my purse around. If you're already at your breaking point because you really have so much on your plate and someone throws out such a ridiculous accusation, such as me cheating ...," she said."I believe in the sanctity of marriage. I have been a very faithful wife. I think I've been an excellent wife. I have two small children, and I'm raising my sons to respect women. It's ridiculous to think I would ever do anything inappropriate, and there has never been any documentation of any such thing," explained Parks in a recent "Access Hollywood" interview. She has also admitted to still loving Nida, in spite of everything. -
Gia Giudice's Tweet Raises Concern Hours Before Her Mother Teresa Begins Prison Sentence
Can you imagine being 13 years old and knowing that you are about to lose your mother for 15 months because she has to report to prison? That is the position Gia Giudice is in now that her mother, Teresa Giudice, is hours away from turning herself in to a Connecticut prison camp. While Teresa was granted an extra three months of freedom so she could spend this holiday season with her kids, the time has come for her to pay for years of bank fraud and other financial crimes, and her oldest daughter is reportedly feeling the stress. On Saturday night, Jan. 3, Gia tweeted about not being able to sleep — it has since been deleted — because she had too much on her mind, and while she has always seemed like a tough kid, she certainly has a rough road ahead of her and she knows it. While "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star has claimed that she always puts her kids first, her presence is not going to be felt for more than a year, and that could potentially leave a lot resting on Gia's shoulders.Joe Giudice is expected to take over all the family duties, but that sounds problematic, especially since he originally used his alcoholism as a way of getting out of doing federal time. Now we know he will do that federal time after Teresa is released, and we also know he has spent the majority of his time these last several months drinking and avoiding the stress at home. It is a mystery how he will clean himself up in order to morph into the role of a responsible father. -
Gia Giudice Filming a Reality Show While Her Mom Teresa Prepares for Prison
Apparently, if you are part of the Giudice family, then being a part of a reality show makes sense. Teresa Giudice rose to fame thanks in part to her spot on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" and, in an ironic twist, it also was probably her undoing. The desire to keep up appearances led Teresa and her husband, Joe Giudice, to fraudulent behavior that will result in prison time for both of them as punishment. As she is getting ready to report to prison in under a week, 13-year-old Gia Giudice is now filming a show of her own.In October, we first learned about Gia being part of an all-girl group called 3KT. The girls have put out two videos so far and, according to a report by "E! News," they have also had cameras trailing them. A source close to Gia explains:"It will be all about her group, 3KT. They've been filming already for two months. So far, the footage is really fun. Once the pilot is completed, they'll start shopping it to the networks. All the girls's families are in it here and there. But it's not a show about the grownups, it's all about the girls. Everyone's very excited about it." -
'RHONJ' Teresa Giudice Enjoys Her Last Few Days of Freedom Skiing and Doing Shots with Friends
In less than two weeks, Teresa Giudice is scheduled to report to a Connecticut prison camp to begin serving a 15-month sentence for financial fraud, and the reality star is making the most of her last few days of freedom. "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star began her weekend supporting her daughter Gia Giudice's singing group 3KT as they performed a holiday concert and spent the next day on the ski slopes.According to a report by Radar Online, Teresa and her husband Joe Giudice spent time over the weekend at Crystal Springs Resort and Spa in New Jersey. After being spotted on the ski slopes, Teresa was later spotted doing Fireball shots with a few friends. Sources claim that while the star was determined to have a good time, there were definitely moments in the trip where she appeared quite uneasy. While the judge who sentenced Teresa to 15 months in prison allowed her to begin serving her time after the holidays, purposely giving her more time with her four kids, that is not going to really make things easier on her in the long run. The build-up in the press before Teresa's incarceration has likely weighed heavily on her whole family. -
'RHONJ's' Teresa Giudice Believes New Legal Team Will Get Her Out of Jail Early
It's amazing how many headlines Teresa Giudice still manages to grab, in spite of doing precious little in the last few months. Back in October "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star learned that she'll be serving 15 months behind bars after pleading guilty on several fraud charges, but she claims not to have really understood the plea deal that she took. Instead Giudice believes that her own legal team mislead her so she has been shopping for new representation as her Jan. 5 incarceration date quickly approaches. -
'RHOA's' Phaedra Parks Cancels Christmas Trip to Kentucky Prison to Visit Apollo Nida
It looks like Apollo Nida's Christmas wasn't so merry after all. The reality star has been locked up in a Kentucky prison since September after pleading guilty to a string of charges last May. For a moment there it looked like "The Real Housewives of Atlanta"'s Phaedra Parks was going to take her sons to visit Nida, their father, in jail for the holiday but at the last minute she changed her mind. -
'RHONJ' Teresa Giudice Is Looking for Other People to Take Her Kids in During 15-Month Prison Term
The clock is ticking on Teresa Giudice's freedom. After pleading guilty to various counts of fraud, she was sentenced to 15 months in prison, and her Jan. 5 surrender date is fast approaching, leaving her no choice but to tie up all kinds of loose ends before she leaves for prison in Connecticut. While "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star originally claimed that she trusted her husband Joe Giudice to handle their four kids while she is away, that is no longer the case.According to Radar Online, Teresa has had a difficult time believing she is really headed off to jail, but as time has gone on and Joe's behavior has worsened, she realized her daughters are probably better off elsewhere."She knows Joe doesn't want to take care of them, and she doesn't think he's capable. Theresa has become so desperate she's now considering giving her kids to friends!" says the source. -
'RHOA's' Apollo Nidas' Behavior Has Gotten Just Plan Creepy Towards Almost Ex-wife Phaedra Parks
If you're a fan of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" then you have no doubt been following the demise of Phaedra Parks marriage to Apollo Nida. Perhaps she should have thought twice about marrying an ex-con but Parks believed that her man had truly changed his shady business dealings and when she found out otherwise she pretty immediately began distancing herself from him. The episodes currently airing on Bravo were filmed a few months ago, shortly before Nida surrendered to a Kentucky prison where he will spend the next 8 years. Last night's episode gave us all a front row seat to a different side of Nida, one that felt quite threatening. -
'RHONJ's' Teresa Giudice is Losing It, Believes Her Phones are Tapped by the Feds
Teresa Giudice has only two short weeks of freedom left before she has to report to a prison camp in Connecticut and as the days wind down the fallen reality star is certainly struggling. We already told you that earlier this week the Feds actually raided the Giudice's mansion in New Jersey because they seem to be completely incapable of following the rules that the court has laid out for them. Teresa and her husband, Joe Giudice still owe over $214K in restitution and they were required to submit a payment plan. When they neglected to do so federal agents moved in and took cash, valuables and even the kids Christmas presents to auction off in an attempt to settle the debt. Now we're hearing that Teresa believes the government is watching and listening in on everything that she says and does.
