• Paul McCartney, Lenny Kravitz, Ringo Starr and More Respond to Joe Cocker's Death on Twitter

    Soulful rock icon Joe Cocker died yesterday, Dec. 22, at the age of 70. The singer had been battling lung cancer. Tributes began flooding in from Cocker's contemporaries: Paul McCartney, The Doobie Brothers and Ringo Starr all paid their respects on Twitter. Some of today's artists like Lupe Fiasco, Lady Antebellum and Lenny Kravitz also showed love for the legendary performer.McCartney recalled Cocker's brilliance on The Beatles's "With a Little Help from My Friends," which the singer recorded in the late 1960s and eventually became the theme song for "The Wonder Years":"It's really sad to hear about Joe's passing. He was a lovely northern lad who I loved a lot and like many people I loved his singing. I was especially pleased when he decided to cover 'With a Little Help from My Friends' and I remember him and Denny Cordell coming round to the studio in Saville Row and playing me what they'd recorded and it was just mind blowing, totally turned the song into a soul anthem and I was forever grateful to him for doing that."

He has released the powerful video for the first official single from the album "Deliver" featuring frequent collaborator, Ty Dolla $ign. Directed by Alex Nazari, the video follows a young boy traveling quite a distance to get out of the "no delivery" zone of Chicago just to get two boxes of pizza. It portrays the harsh reality of where Lupe Fiasco grew up on the West Side of Chicago with gangs, drugs and prostitution and how it becomes a ghetto to the outside world who have no desire to enter the neighborhood.

Today (Dec. 1), Fiasco unveiled the 16-song tracklist and acrylic painted cover for his fifth LP, featuring Ab-Soul, Trae Tha Truth and several appearances from Nikki Jean.

In an Instagram post from earlier today, Oct. 14, via radio.com, the Chicago rapper claimed his label Atlantic Records is holding back the release of "Tetsuo & Youth" until he gives them “a pop single,” and said that in the meantime he is "putting together a mini-project while they find one for me." This “mini-project” Fiasco is referring to is a new mixtape cleverly titled "Lost in the Atlantic," which he says was recorded “with a bunch of my friends to stay active and happy.”
