It is the only song on the record that features vocals, which David Gilmour provides.The tune was written by Gilmour's wife, Polly Sampson, about the history of the band, "Rolling Stone" noted."Her words really spoke to something about the band," Gilmour said, "certainly when it came to Rick [Wright] and myself. Pink Floyd Shares New Song 'Allons-y (1)' [LISTEN]
It's difficult to believe that later this month Pink Floyd will release a new album — bringing the band's tally of studio work to 15.The group has shared a short song today, Nov. 3, which can be accessed by Spotify users below, "Consequence of Sound" reports. "Allons-y (1)" clocks in at just under two minutes and is one of "The Endless River's" many instrumental tracks.Previously, the band put out three 30-second snippets of the album in addition to an actual trailer. The record spans 18 tracks, all of which are a tribute to former keyboardist Richard Wright, who died in 2008. -
