Pussy Riot Speaks Up for Refugees in New Video Filmed at Banksy’s Dismaland [WATCH]
Pussy Riot has returned with a new song and accompanying video, "Refugees In," which addresses the current European refugee crisis. The Russian punk activist art collective has dedicated the politically-charged song to displaced refugees arriving in Europe from Syria, Afganistan, Sudan and other war-torn countries in the region, Rolling Stone reports. The video was filmed inside Banksy's Dismaland, the artist's dystopian "Bemusement Park" that was set up on the oceanfront in the U.K. for about a month earlier this fall. -
Run The Jewels, Pussy Riot Playing Banksy's Dismaland Theme Park
Anonymous street artist Bansky has become something of a cultural icon and he is using his cache to build a brand new theme park in the UK called Dismaland. The 2.5 acre park is located on the seafront site of a derelict location in Weston-super-Mare. In addition to the various art installations scattered around the park, there will be live musical guests each Friday night going until 1 a.m., plus DJs every Saturday night. Among those who have been booked so far are Run The Jewels, Massive Attack, Pussy Riot and Kate Tempest. -

Pussy Riot has responded to the sentencing of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and his brother Oleg — whose trial was deliberately accelerated in order to prevent protesting — in video called "Witches of Pussy Riot Clean Manezhka," which calls Russians to demonstrate outside the Kremlin. -

Celebrities and musicians alike helped VICE celebrate its 20th anniversary last night (December 5) at a music festival in Brooklyn. The house band was led by Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontman Nick Zinner. Pussy Riot has encountered a series of blockades to their anti-Putin protest in Sochi, the site of the Winter Olympics. Over the weekend, they were arrested under suspicion of theft but were eventually released with no charges. Yesterday, members of the Cossack militia attacked them when they tried to perform the song "Putin Will Teach You To Love the Motherland." -
Pussy Riot attacked by Russian militia members during anti-Putin protest in Sochi [WATCH]
As previously reported, Pussy Riot members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina were taken into custody by police in Sochi, accused of theft. They were ultimately released without charges but were reportedly beaten during interrogation, as Consequence of Sound reports.
