The year is coming to a close and with that comes companies publishing the artists who racked up the biggest stats on their respective platforms. YouTube is the latest to crowd its hottest artists for 2014 and the results won't surprise you. Katy Perry & Juicy J's "Dark Horse" reigns supreme over the year with 717,734,185 views and counting, with Enrique Iglesias featuring Descemer Bueno & Gente De Zona "Bailando" comes in second with 590 million views. Shakira takes the third and fourth spots with 'Cant Remember To Forget You" featuring Rihanna at 443 million views and La La La ft. Carlinhos Brown at 419 million views. -
Song Questions with Song Answers: Rod Stewart and Shakira, Lil Jon and Hall & Oates, and More
Acts like One Direction and Taylor Swift have created armies of super-creepy, devoted fans. We're not talking about the typical Directioner...we're talking about the stalkers and X-rated fan fiction writers. Fortunately this isn't the '60s, where fans could apparently infiltrate the music industry and send messages to their idols. The best example is Elvis Presley, specifically his hit "Are You Lonely Tonight?," which according to Billboard generated at least four songs titled "Yes, I'm Lonely Tonight" and one "Oh, How I Miss You Tonight" as "answers" to his question. Odds are these songs were more about profits than untamed hormones, but we love the idea of response tracks. -

Shakira will be welcoming her second child with husband Gerard Pique in the coming months, but that's not the only baby-related thing the "Can't Remember to Forget You" singer has in the works. The Hollywood Reporter released a list of the Top 25 Latino individuals who are impacting entertainment right now, noting the continual growth of the Latino population in the United States and how that growth will impact all entertainment industries will be impacted as these trends continue. The music industry wasn't particularly well represented on the list but that says more about the worth of the film and television industries more than it does about Latino involvement in music. -

Shakira is in a tad of legal trouble, at least with her Spanish language releases. A judge in New York City has ruled that her 2010 track "Loca" from the album Sale el Sol broke copyright laws by being overly similar to the track "Loca con su Tiguere" by Dominican songwriter Ramon Arias Vazquez. -
