    No music documentary has gotten as much hype this year as 'Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck,' the document on the life of Nirvana's frontman featuring new footage, new songs, and potentially even a sex tape featuring Courtney Love (not really...but director Brett Morgen had a chance). Cobain was arguably the most influential musician of the '90s, a demigod among many music icons that emerged from Seattle's grunge scene. We can't wait to check out Montage of Heck but for the time being we recommend you check out these other five documentaries that look at aspects of Seattle's rock scene during the era, looking at Pearl Jam, Mudhoney and more. No, 'Singles' isn't one of them.
  • Former Pearl Jam Drummer Dave Abbruzzese Wanted in Texas on Two Drug Charges

    Dave Abbruzzese, former drummer for Pearl Jam, is wanted in Texas on two drug charges. He has been a wanted man in the Lone Star State since September on a charge of drug possession and on a charge of manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance. There is also a $1,000 reward for any tips that lead to his arrest, 'Consequence of Sound' noted.
  • Soundgarden Guitarist Kim Thayil Says Band Will Release 'King Animal' Follow-Up in 2016

    The members of Soundgarden want the reunion to last a little bit longer. Guitarist Kim Thayil told The Sydney Morning Herald recently that the band plans to release its eighth studio album in 2016. The untitled effort will follow the band's 2012 album, King Animal, which they released after a 16-year recording hiatus. Thayil said the band is still in the early stages of putting the album together.

    One of grunge's most beloved bands, Mad Season, will reunite in January with the help of two big names. Soundgarden's Chris Cornell and former Guns N' Roses member Duff McKagan will fill in for deceased members Layne Staley and John Baker Saunders. Surviving members Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) and Barrett Martin will lead the reunion, which will feature the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.

    Disney's new video game "Fantasia: Music Evolved" just announced the three new tracks that will be joining the rest of the in-game soundtrack. Contributions from Skrillex and Alvin Risk, Coldplay and Soundgarden will be a part of a new downloadable content patch, who now joins artists like Nicki Minaj, Queen, Lorde, The Police, Elton John and others. Risk, collaborator with Skrillex on "Try It Out," posted a video on his Facebook giving fans a visual at what it would look like to play the game to the sounds of "Try It Out."The video game also released a video that shows you how you can "remix" Coldplay's "Paradise," which is part of the DLC. The last song in the DLC is Soundgarden's "Spoonman."
  • Soundgarden To Remix And Reissue Debut Album 'Ultramega OK'

    Grunge legends Soundgarden are having a pretty good 2014, reissuing their 1994 classic Superunknown and releasing the three-disc rarities compilation Echo of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path, but they're far from done with the reissues. In an interview with Pulse of Radio (via Blabbermouth), guitarist Kim Thayil revealed that the band has plans to remix and reissue its debut album Ultramega OK, which was released in 1988 and recorded with legendary grunge producer Jack Endino, who also recorded Mudhoney and Nirvana.
