Kendrick Lamar's love affair with indie rock continues. The Compton rapper has now teamed up with Tame Impala for "Backwards," an updated version of the band's 2012 song "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards," Billboard reports. The collaboration will appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming SciFi flick, Divergent. -

The Flaming Lips unveil cover of Tame Impala's 'Elephant' off upcoming joint EP
As previously reported, The Flaming Lips and Tame Impala are releasing a cover album of each other's music. The two bands begin touring together this month and have recorded covers "Runway, Houses, City Clouds" and "Elephant" (covered by the Flaming Lips) and "Are You A Hypnotist" and "Silver Trembling Hands" (covered by Tame Impala). The joint EP will be available at their upcoming shows. -

Ever prolific, The Flaming Lips will be busy the next few months putting out two new EPs. For the first project, the Flaming Lips and Tame Impala will be covering each other songs. The second EP the band is working on is called Peace Sword, the first big release from the group since April's Terror. Right up the Flaming Lip's ally, the album is a sci-fi concept album inspired by the forthcoming film, Ender's Game, which comes out Nov. 1.
