Lou Reed documentary to feature Velvet Underground Members, Thurston Moore, Boy George and more
On December 15, BBC Four will be honoring the late Lou Reed in documentary called Lou Reed Remembered. As NME reports, the show will air at 9 p.m. and will include contributions from Reed's former Velvet Underground bandmates Mo Tucker and Doug Yule, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, Boy George and Debbie Harry. -
The Velvet Underground drop unreleased song 'I’m Not a Young Man Anymore' [LISTEN]
To commemorate the 45th anniversary of The Velvet Underground's sophomore album, White Light/White Heat, they are releasing a three-disc reissue, co-curated by the Lou Reed and John Cale. Today, they shared a previously unreleased live recording of "I'm Not A Young Man Anymore" from the Gymnasium in New York on April 30, 1967, which is rumored to have been the band's only performance of the song. -
Wes Anderson tribute album, 'I Saved Latin!' in the works for spring 2014
Director Wes Anderson is getting his own tribute album this coming spring. American Laundromat Records has assembled six bundle packages that feature a double-CD called I Saved Latin!, which will honor Anderson's music-filled movies including Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, Life Aquatic, Bottle Rocket, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Darjeeling Limited.
