    Discogs and Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) have teamed up for Vinyl Marketwatch, a new site that tracks vinyl record prices. Described on the new project's website as "an collaborative ongoing experiment" between the two companies, the Vinyl Marketwatch is like a tongue-in-cheek stock exchange for vinyl aficionados.

    Discogs, the online vinyl and CD marketplace, celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the site has shared some propriety information regarding its role within the US vinyl boom with Billboard: so far in 2015 the site has exceeded $43.5 million in sales. To translate that figure into terms we audiophiles prefer, that's 2.5 million records, half a million CDs and 50,000 cassette tapes. Furthermore, as Resident Advisor reports, the figures reflect an industry-wide increase in vinyl sales, with the stats in the US at their highest in 25 years.

The company, VNYL, just reached its Kickstarter goal this week.

    Daft Punk is getting ready to give two of its live albums the vinyl treatment. The "Get Lucky" duo plans to reissue "Alive 1997" and "Alive 2007" as vinyl LPs along with a few extras.According to Modern Vinyl, the "1997" live album was last pressed in 2001, while "2007" was never put out as a vinyl record. The version of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" on the latter album earned the duo a Grammy in 2009 for Best Dance Recording. No word on a U.S. release date, but it is slated to drop Dec. 19 in France, Consequence of Sound noted.
