Charli XCX is taking over the world of pop music with the release of her latest record, Brat. She recently shared the meaning of the song "Talk Talk," which she said was inspired by an encounter with her fiancé, George Daniel, in 2020.

The singer took to TikTok to share a video of herself discussing the meaning behind the latest track. She recalled an incident at the NME Awards in 2020 when she and The 1975 drummer were not in a relationship yet.

She clarified that although they weren't romantically involved with one another at the time, they were "very into each other."

"We were at the NME Awards, we were both sat on different tables, and we were like texting each other, but we weren't hanging out," she said.

Charli remembered that they would look at one another, but the other would look away, and vice versa.

"You know, when you just feel like someone is watching you, you can feel a hole burning in the back of your head or something like that," she added.

She gave more details about the encounter in the lyrics of her song, as she sang, "I followed you to the bathroom / But then I felt crazy."
