Danity Kane may not have been able to fully pull off putting the band back together again after an eight-year hiatus, but their fans are going to love DK3 when it drops Oct. 28. A violent studio fight between Dawn Richard and Aubrey O'Day brought reunion plans to a halt in August and left fans wailing for the ladies to at least release the music. Two weeks ago, O'Day and fellow DK3 member Shannon Bex confirmed that the final album is coming, and yesterday, Oct. 7, they released another new track: "Tell Me."
Sample clips of the whole album have popped up online, with "Tell Me" sounding like one of the smoothest, strongest R&B grooves that these ladies have ever harmonized on. It is also a sharp contrast to the crisp "Lemonade" single that dropped early this past summer.
DK3 is being promoted as the final Danity Kane album, which is a shame. With tracks like "Tell Me," it seems that the best stuff was yet to come from this group — had they been able to keep it together.
Give "Tell Me" a listen below and tell us your thoughts. While Danity Kane fans are thrilled to at least get the final recordings from the ladies, do you think it will leave people wanting more?
The physical fight between Richard and O'Day was supposedly pretty brutal with Richard punching her band mate in the back of the head. O'Day has said there is no coming back from an incident like that.
Do you think that if DK3 is successful, she might change her mind?
There has also been speculation that O'Day and Bex might work together on a project in the future, and they have made no secret of how close they have become in this last year.
Do you hope they duet on something after Danity Kane is put to rest for good? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
