Kate Middleton and Prince William always seem so incredibly tight when they show up for a personal appearance that it is easy to forget they are, at root, a normal, married couple. That means they have to inevitably have some fights here and there, right? This cannot be an easy time for them, either. Middleton just started her second trimester of pregnancy and seems to be recovering after weeks of acute morning sickness — plus, she has a busy toddler on her hands. William has been doing royal double-time, taking over some of his wife's missed royal appearances while continuing to carry out his normal duties. Things have reportedly been tense — so tense that the couple has spent a lot of time apart, with Middleton staying with her family.
It was first reported several weeks ago that Middleton was at her parents' house in Bucklebury because she felt the most comfortable there. She had little Prince George with her, and Carole Middleton was on full-time grandma duty.
The thing is, Middleton has reportedly continued to live at her family's home rather than returning to Kensington Palace. It is no secret that she has been unhappy at the palace, and it is the main reason she and William have been planning on moving to their country home, making it their official home. She could feasibly be staying with the Middletons until her move is complete.
But usually when there is smoke, there is some sort of fire, so the chance of there being some marital problems seems strong. Do you think Middleton and William seem to be held to a different standard in general, one where they are expected to bypass the problems that plague commoners, such as marriage meltdowns? Do you blame Middleton for wanting to stay with her family? Kensington Palace is filled with pressure — between trying to please the queen and then, of course, dodging interaction with Camilla Parker-Bowles — it is hardly the place for Middleton to find peace.
