Rapper Waka Flocka Flame has been forced to cancel his forthcoming Australian tour after being denied a visa due to previous drug and firearms charges, according to Billboard.
"[We] regret to to announce that this month's planned tour of Australia and New Zealand by has been postponed," wrote promoter Robin Fernando. "Unfortunately Waka Flocka's entry into Australia was denied by the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection, due to his recent arrest(s) on both firearms and drug charges."
The emcee's last arrest came during October of 2014, when he was stopped at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta with a loaded firearm in his bag.
Waka had four dates planned for Australia as well as an additional two for New Zealand, all of which will be rescheduled for later in the year, according to Fernando and Illusive Entertainment. The bummer for fans in New Zealand is that their nation actually permitted for Waka Flocka to enter the country, however those two shows wouldn't be enough to make the tour financially viable, thus that baby was tossed out with the bathwater.
Australian fans have to bear some sort of grudge against Waka Flocka by now, as this is the second time (in two attempts) that his yours in the country have fallen through. He last tried to get down under for a tour during early 2014, however those plans were cancelled during December of 2013 (Merry Christmas Australian hip-hop fans!).
Illusive Entertainment reports that ticket holders for the current round of dates will be contacted for an immediate refund. Whether or not they buy tickets the next time Waka Flocka plans a tour remains to be seen.
