Fetty Wap Reveals Drake Reached Out Via Kanye West for 'My Way (Remix)'

Last month, Fetty Wap and Drake nearly broke the Internet when a leak of their "My Way (Remix)" collaboration made its way to SoundCloud. Fetty recently revealed that the Toronto rapper reached out to him via Kanye West to do the song.

On Wednesday (June 3), the "Trap Queen" rhymer stopped by New York's Hot 97 and discussed a slew of things, including his bond with Yeezy and his unpredictable texts.

"[Kanye'll] just hit me periodically out of nowhere like, 'Yo, bro. I'm proud of you,'" Fetty explained.

And one of those periodic texts happened to be about working with Drake.

"It was like, 'Drake's trying to get in contact with you. I gave him your number. That's cool?'" he shared. "I'm like, 'Yeah, bro. Thank you.'"

The result of the exchange was a quick fan favorite where Drizzy drops lines like, "All I gotta do is put my mind to this sh*t/Cancel out my ex like put a line through that b*tch."

"The way [Drizzy] even asked me [about 'My Way'] like, 'Yo, can I bless the track? Do I have your blessings for it?'" he said. "I'm reading this like, 'Is it him or somebody else talking for him?' Next thing you know, he FaceTimed me like, 'Yo, I'm in the club. They bumpin' it right now.'"

As previously reported, Gucci Mane, Azealia Banks and Quavo of the Migos also released remixes of Fetty Wap's chart climbing single "Trap Queen." Gucci and Quavo took on Wap's hit together, while the UK version features an extra verse from Banks. A previous remix featured Fabolous and French Montana.

Fetty Wap was included in this year's XXL Freshman class.
