Greyson Chance's career skyrocketed at a very young age after a video of himself playing Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" in middle school went viral more than a decade ago. Since then, he was invited to guest on Ellen DeGeneres' host, but little did fans know that there's something happening behind closed doors.
According to Billboard, the Emmy Award-winning television host made the singer her first signed to her record label eleveneleven. Despite giving him a big opportunity that heavily contributed to his stardom, Chance will not be silent anymore as he's ready to tell his story.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the "Thrilla in Manila" hitmaker broke his silence about DeGeneres more than a year after she was accused of having a toxic workplace within her talk show.
"I've never met someone more manipulative, more self-centered, and more blatantly opportunistic than her," he revealed.
Chance added that DeGeneres, who wrapped up the final season of her famed talk show a few months ago, became "domineering and way too controlling" about how he presents himself to the public.

She would also switch up performances whenever she saw videos of a stage that she never approved of. Regardless of how complete the setup is, the whole thing would change because of her opinion.
The "Dancing Next to Me" hitmaker then recalled a moment when the TV personality insisted he watches Justin Bieber's documentary titled "Never Say Never" as it would help him research and grapple through his career as a young singer.
While talking to her on the phone, she reportedly told him, "'Disappointed isn't even remotely what I'm feeling right now.'"
Ellen DeGeneres Drops Greyson Chance Once His Career Dropped
Unfortunately for the singer, his career started dropping following his debut album. His second record, "Truth Be Told, Part 1," didn't become much successful.
When he failed to receive massive success, Interscope Records dropped him from the deal and so did Ellen DeGeneres' managers, agents, and publicists.
Speaking about his true feelings at the time, Chance said he felt "completely abandoned" as the host never called him back again and whenever he visits the show, she would put on "a fake smile."
Before returning to music in 2019, he was invited back to the show for the last time, saying he was mortified about the experience.
