Maddie Walker was in visible pain last week on American Idol, and after she sang "She's Country" by Jason Aldean, she was escorted off stage by a doctor. Taste of Country reports that former contestant Savion Wright tweeted that Walker ruptured her appendix (the post has since been deleted). Phish will hit the road this summer following frontman Trey Anastasio's gig filling in for Jerry Garcia at the Grateful Dead reunion shows. The trek will kick off in Bend, Oregon, on July 21 and wrap Sept. 6 in Commerce City, Colorado. Notable stops include July 25 at The Forum in Los Angeles, Aug. 11 at The Mann in Philadelphia, and Aug. 21-23 at Magnaball in Watkins Glen. -
2014 US Record Industry Earnings: Sales Dip; Streaming, Vinyl Up
Each year, the Record Industry Association of America (RIAA) releases a recap for yearly earnings. They have generally been pretty doom and gloom with the overall industry bleeding money with sales from CDs dropping dramatically and the major players unable to capitalize and create new sources of revenue for themselves and their artists. The 2014 report shows that while total revenues did dip from $7 billion to $6.972, a .5% change, there are plenty of promising signs, notably in streaming. -

The initial lineup for a Jack Bruce tribute concert has been announced, and it includes the Cream bassist's former bandmate, Ginger Baker, on drums. Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, Vernon Reid of Living Colour and Joss Stone of Superheavy are also scheduled to perform at "Sunshine of Your Love: A Concert Celebrating the Life & Music of Jack Bruce" on Oct. 24. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, more performers will be announced. -
