• Udo Juergens, One of Germany's Most Beloved Pop Stars, Dies at Age 80

    Germany has lost one of its biggest music icons as pop star Udo Juergens passed away at the age of 80. The vocalist and songwriter, who sold more than 100 million records throughout his career according to Billboard, collapsed while out for a walk. Doctors said that his death was the cause of heart of failure.

He took to Instagram to vent his frustrations, calling the release his "last real R&B album."In a lengthy caption posted with a selfie, Tank questioned his fans and the genre of R&B as a whole. He even revealed that Atlantic Records will not be funding further promotion of the project and noted a decline in musicianship for the sake of sales."The artist that don't give a f--k sale the most and do the most! Should that be my new route? Maybe I should have been born white then all of my music would go straight mainstream and pop radio instead of urban ac. A format that continues to kill the true R&B artist! (Not mad at white artist just to be clear!)"
  • Phil Rudd Gives First Interview Since November Arrest: 'I'm Going Back to Work with AC/DC'

    Despite all his current legal issues, Phil Rudd said in his first interview since being arrested in November that he will be resuming his duties as drummer for AC/DC. The longtime percussionist was charged with threatening to kill and drug possession. A murder-for-hire charge was dropped. Rudd, who played on AC/DC's new album, Rock or Bust, told ONE News that the charges against him are 'ludicrous.'

    Ultra Music Festival continues the announcements with its international brands. Ultra Buenos Aires, the Argentinean edition of Ultra Music Festival has announced the first wave of artists who will be joining the festival this February on Feb. 20 and 21. The first batch of headliners will be Adam Beyer, who is hosting his own stage, Afrojack, Alesso, Axwell / Ingrosso, Dash Berlin, Marco Carola, New World Punx, the duo of Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz, Porter Robinson performing live and Tiësto.
  • Tomorrowland Squashes Rumors Of India Expansion in 2015

    Rumors have swirled around a potential expansion for Tomorrowland expansion to India. It seemed almost a done deal when Goa travel minister came out with comments last October that "The event organizers have approached us and have shown interest to host the event in mid[dle] of January." However, this was not to be the case. Shortly thereafter, Debby Wilsmen, the chief press officer for ID&T festival was quoted in a Belgian paper Het Laaste Nieuws via DNA India saying "This brief note is to respect and salute the Indian Tomorrowland fans and media, and to clarify that absolutely no decision has been made as to whether the next expansion of Tomorrowland will take place in India or in any other country in the world."

    Some big names in Hollywood and rock are joining the HBO family soon. Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger's music industry show highlighting the business in the 1970s finally received a green light. "The Departed" director will oversee the pilot while "Boardwalk Empire's" Terrence Winter will take the role of showrunner, "Collider" reports. Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano and Andrew "Dice" Clay are all set to star in the untitled series.Bobby Cannavale ("Boardwalk Empire") will play Richie Finestra, a record executive in New York City in the middle of a "drug and sex-fueled music business as punk and disco were breaking out." A press release revealed that Finestra will be facing a big life decision, but no specifics were given.Wilde has been tapped to play Finestra's wife, Devon. Romano will be Finestra's head of promotions Zak Yankovich. The Dice Man will take the role of Frank Rogers, a radio station owner who enjoys cocaine.No word on when production will begin, and the network has yet to set a premiere date.
