Deadmau5 Sneaks Out of Hospital, Hops Plane to Play Miami Show
Canadian progressive-house producer/DJ Deadmau5, born Joel Zimmerman, was hospitalized Thursday due to a case of severely swollen lymph nodes, EDM Sauce reports. But in under a day the artist broke doctor's orders -- which, based on the producer's social media accounts, included an IV, a sonogram and some other tests in addition to bedrest -- by sneaking out and hopping on a plane to Miami, arriving just in time to throw down at a Red Bull Music Academy gig held at The Fillmore. -

Feminist academic and curmudgeon critic Camille Paglia has penned yet another criticism of pop icon Taylor Swift, this time taking on the artist's Girl Squad. In the treatise, Paglia says Taylor's squad is a "tittering, tongues-out mugging" posse that does the opposite of empower females due to the presentation of a "silly, regressive public image." "Swift herself," she adds, "should retire that obnoxious Nazi Barbie routine of wheeling out friends and celebrities as performance props." -

Robert Plant, Kindness, Tinariwen, More Contribute New Tracks for Charity Album for Refugees
Former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant have teamed-up with the British Red Cross for a charity album that aims to shine the spotlight on real-life experiences of refugees and asylum seekers in the U.K. and around the world, while also raising funds for the cause. The album, entitled 'The Long Road', also features tracks from Tinariwen, Kindness, Scroobius Pip and the Sierra Leone Refugee All Stars and is being produced by Ethan Johns. 'The Long Road' is due out March 4 2016 and is available for pre-order this week. -
Sigur Rós Members Produce Talking Dog Movie ‘3 Dogateers Save Christmas’ [WATCH]
Georg Holm and Orri Dyrason, the bassist and drummer for Sigur Rós, produced 2014's holiday-themed family film The Three Dogateers Save Christmas in which three talking dogs save Christmas from burglars much like Macaulay Culkin did in Home Alone 25 years ago. The movie's tagline is "Christmas just went to the dogs," so it's no surprise it's just one part of what turns out to be an entire Dogateer franchise--Jurassic Bark is in the works and Indiana Bones might actually turn out to be a thing. Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival has announced its initial lineup of headliners for 2016 and that the festival is adding an east coast date for the first time ever. As Punk News reports, Flogging Molly, Descendents, The Exploited, Subhumans, Dillinger Four and many others will be playing the festival. In addition to taking over its usual home in Las Vegas May 26-30, the festival will also be taking place June 10-12 at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey. -
