  • Massive Attack’s 3D Soundtracked Darren Aronofsky’s Climate Change Protest Project in Paris

    3D, aka Robert del Naja of Massive Attack, has composed the original score to a work of public climate change protest art created in collaboration with filmmaker Darren Aronofsky and French visual artist JR. Entitled "The Standing March," the installation piece is being exhibited this week in Paris during the United Nation's COP21, also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, and as Pitchfork reports the video projection aims to "remind leaders that the world is watching as they gather to negotiate a deal aimed at keeping global warming below 2°C."

    Santigold, the solo project of electronic singer-songwriter Santi White, has shared the new video for her track "Who Be Lovin' Me" which features iLoveMakonnen and was produced by Zeds Dead. The video was co-directed by White and her husband, Trouble Andrew, and follows Santigold and iLoveMakonnen as they cruise through the crowds at this past September's Made in America festival held in Philly. As Stereogum points out, you can spot cameos from A-Trak, Meek Mill, Earl Sweatshirt, Big Sean, De La Soul, DJ Mustard and Vic Mensa among others in the new video. Watch it below.

    Lunice has dropped his new EP entitled 180 via LuckyMe. Immediately upon the announcement of the surprise release, the track entitled "Burnt" was shared via the trap artist's Soundcloud but has since been removed. The Montreal-based producer, also known as one half of TNGHT with Hudson Mohawke, also announced that he will be supporting Madonna on the European stops on her Rebel Heart Tour.

    Rustie has shared a new video for "First Mythz," the second track off his recent EVENIFUDONTBELIEVE album that came out via Warp earlier this month. The trance-driven melodic dance song juxtaposes vocal samples of dolphins with the hard-hitting trap clap track, so it is only fitting that the video elaborates upon the Scottish producer's return to a seapunk aesthetic by showcasing a montage of tropical island vacation footage starring lots of dolphins among other marine animals.     Florida police officer Andrew Ricks was fired this week for singing on stage with the Providence, Rhode Island-based death metal band, Vital Remains. The superfan was reportedly on duty when he jumped on stage in full uniform during their November 13 appearance at the West End Trading Company in Sanford to help introduce the band's 2003 song "Dechristianize" by belting-out (err, screaming) the song's first lines: "Let the killing begin!"

    Pussy Riot has returned with a new song and accompanying video, "Refugees In," which addresses the current European refugee crisis. The Russian punk activist art collective has dedicated the politically-charged song to displaced refugees arriving in Europe from Syria, Afganistan, Sudan and other war-torn countries in the region, Rolling Stone reports. The video was filmed inside Banksy's Dismaland, the artist's dystopian "Bemusement Park" that was set up on the oceanfront in the U.K. for about a month earlier this fall.

After mastering the art of fusing post-punk rock with electronic dance music production, winning a number of Grammy’s, selling over 20 million albums worldwide, and being lauded as one of the most important dance music figures of the 1990s by countless sources, the acclaimed DJ and passionate animal rights activist is now channeling some of his creative energy towards the goal of bringing the people of LA a Mediterranean-inspired vegan menu. The restaurant opened in an art deco building on Rowena Avenue in Silver Lake this week and as of now is open daily 7:30am to midnight.

  • Desert Hearts Announce Second City Hearts North American Winter Tour

    Desert Hearts, the San Diego-based underground party crew, is hitting the road for their second annual City Hearts North American tour, and bringing with them their marathon-style Burning Man-esque event production and mantra of "House, Techno, Love." Officially entitled the City Hearts Winter Is Coming Tour, each of the 13 stops throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico will feature sets from Desert Hearts' own Porkchop, Marbs, Deep Jesus, Lee Reynolds and Mikey Lion. The tour kicks-off December 5th at the Belasco in LA, meanders coast-to-coast throughout the continent for a few months, then concludes at the end of February in Seattle.
  • Kygo Will Be First EDM Artist to Perform at Nobel Peace Prize Concert

    Kygo is going to be making history next month as the first-ever EDM artist to perform at the Nobel Peace Prize summit. The tropical house producer/DJ will be performing at the Telenor Arena in Oslo on December 11th alongside fellow Norwegian artists a-ha and Aurora. They will be performing to honor this year's laureate, the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet, for their work in fostering a pluralistic democracy in their homeland after the Jasmin Revolution in 2011.
