    Josh Homme and Jesse Hughs are back to work on a new Eagles of Death Metal album. The duo hasn't released an album together since 2008's Heart On, but according to an interview Homme gave with Australia's The Music, Homme and Hughs have been in the studio working on new material. Hughes also confirmed the project in an interview with Antiquiet.

    Madonna has apologized for using a racial slur in an Instagram post. On Friday, the superstar uploaded a photo of her 13-year-old son Rocco boxing with a caption that read, "No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out!" with the hashtag "#disnigga."
  • New Foo Fighters album is underway

    The Foo Fighters are officially back in the studio, according to a post on Instagram, which simply states "It's F***ing ON" next to a row of ATR magnetic tapes, marked Foo Fighters LP 8. Based on the photo, it would appear the band is staying old school and recording with an analog, reel-to-reel tape. But despite the basic approach, frontman Dave Grohl has been claiming that the new record will be revolutionary.

  • 'Beastie Boys Square' proposal needs more signatures before board will vote

    As previously reported, Brooklyn resident LeRoy McCarthy's proposal to name the intersection of Ludlow and Rivington streets in New York's Lower East Side after the Beastie Boys went before a local community board panel on Tuesday. The board was not satisfied with the number of collected signatures and are asking for him to get more signatures from residents and merchants in the immediate area before they will vote.

    Arcade Fire officially kicked off its world tour in support of Reflektor last night. Their first show was a headlining slot at New Zealand's Big Day Out Festival. The 16-song setlist included Reflektor material as well as four songs off 2010's The Suburbs, four songs off 2004's Funeral and "Keep the Car Running" from 2007's Neon Bible.
