Long Island emo veterans Taking Back Sunday have just announced a 2015 North American tour with Pennsylvania punk band the Menzingers and L.A. post-hardcore band Letlive. According to Brooklyn Vegan, the tour kicks off on Feb. 18 in New Orleans and finishes off on April 4 in Ft. Lauderdale. -

The Velvet Underground Share Unheard Mix Of "I Can't Stand It" From Upcoming Reissue [LISTEN]
The 45th anniversary reissue of the Velvet Underground's self-titled third album is set for release on Nov. 24, but today one of the reissue's previously unheard mixes has surfaced, which you can check out below. "I Can't Stand It" was originally recorded in Oct. 1969 by the Velvets as part of an unreleased album, and though it was later remixed and included in the 1985 VU compilation and re-recorded for Lou Reed's debut solo album, this is the first time the song has been released in its original form. It's definitely one of the funkiest and most upbeat songs the band ever recorded. -

Odd Future member Earl Sweatshirt has shared a new track titled “45,” which you can check out below. The Alchemist-produced track is typical Earl, rhyming over a dark, grimy beat without any sort of hook or refrain. The track runs at an incredibly short 1:16, leading Consequence of Sound to speculate that this is just the first half of the actual song, though a more experimentally-minded rapper like Earl could easily be recording an entire album of brief songs like this, similar to Madvillainy. -
Peter Gabriel, Serj Tankian Contribute Songs to Gaza Benefit Album '2 Unite All'
Legendary singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel and System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian have never shied away from political statements in their music, so it should come as no surprise that both artists have contributed songes to a new benefit compilation album titled "2 Unite All," which goes toward funding humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza. According to radio.com, the album was produced by Project Peace on Earth and is currently available for purchase."Helping to rebuild the lives of Palestinians in Gaza is a necessary and noble worldwide humanitarian prerogative that we must not shy away from," Tankian says about the album in a statement. "It's the least we can do for a people that have suffered under an occupation, embargo, and invasion."For the album, Tankian contributed a song titled "Spinning Mysteries at the Sacred Groove," which features Police drummer Stewart Copeland. -

Billy Corgan Fired Smashing Pumpkins Drummer For Being A "Twitch" With "ADD"
Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has a notoriously strained relationship with the people he's played music with, so it came as no surprise when he fired drummer Mike Byrne back in June. Though the reasons for Byrne's dismissal weren't made entirely clear at the time, Corgan discusses his decision in a lengthy (and occasionally confusing) blog post made to the Smashing Pumpkins' website, in which he blames the 24-year-old Byrne for holding up the recording of the band's upcoming albums, calling him a "twitch" with "ADD." -

Bay Area rapper Lil B has made quite a nice (and unexpected) side career for himself on the lecture circuit, giving speeches at colleges such as New York University, the University of California Riverside, and Virginia Tech. Today, the 25-year-old rapper announced his next speaking engagement via twitter, which will take place at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) later this month on Nov. 21. -

Die Antwoord Share 'Ugly Boy' Music Video Featuring Marilyn Manson, Flea, Jack Black [WATCH]
South African hip-hop duo Die Antwoord has shared the music video for their song "Ugly Boy," which you can check out below. The video, directed by Die Antwoord member Ninja, features a couple cameo appearances from other musicians — who are apparently "ugly boys" — including Marilyn Manson and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.Other cameo appearances in the video include actor Jack Black and models Cara Delevingne and Dita Von Teese. Electronic artist Aphex Twin, whose song "Ageipolis" is sampled in the track, has been rumored by some sites as appearing in the video, though "Pitchfork" notes that he does not actually appear.As can be expected of the famously weird Die Antwoord, the music video for "Ugly Boy" is pretty weird stuff, with plenty of blood, violence and other unsettling/offensive images, including a guy in blackface wearing a sweatshirt that reads, "Hi, My Name is God." -
