Interpol Guitarist Daniel Kessler Forms Experimental Duo Big Noble, Debut Album Out Next Year [WATCH]
Pitchfork reports that Interpol guitarist Daniel Kessler has started a side project called Big Noble, which is a collaboration with sound designer Joseph Frailoli. The duo’s debut album is expected sometime in early 2015, but their music can already be heard at a New York sound installation called “Sounds of NYC,” which is running until Oct. 5 at Sonos Studios. Based on the ads created for the installation, their music seems largely instrumental and ambient, as opposed to Interpol’s guitar-driven post-punk. -

Rapper Childish Gambino already dropped a brand new mixtape today (STN MTN), but before he unleashes his new EP KAUAI upon the world (which should be coming any minute now, really), he’s hyping it up by sharing one of the tracks through SoundCloud, “The Palisades.” The Christian Rich-produced track has a funky, sunny vibe and is pretty heavy on the singing, though Gambino does drop a quick verse before the end of the track. -

After going three years without releasing a new album, EP or single, Ryan Adams seems to be making up for it big time in 2014. He has already released one full-length album — Ryan Adams — and two 7-inches — 1984 and Jacksonville — and today he’s announced the release of yet another 7-inch. Pitchfork reports that the presumably Halloween-themed Vampires is set for release Oct. 28 and is the latest in Adams’s Pax AM Singles Series. -
Tom Morello, of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, Releases Facebook Statement About 5 Points Café Situation, Dubbing It 'Pancake-Gate'
A couple days ago, Sept. 30, Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello took to his Twitter account to complain about the service at Seattle’s 5 Point Café, which he referred to as "Super rude & anti-worker" after he was turned away at the door, though the restaurant claims to have been at capacity. The restaurant responded to these accusations, with owner David Meinert calling Morello and his crew "totally rude" and defending the restaurant as "totally pro-worker." Now, Morello has released a statement of his own, giving his side of the story in a lengthy Facebook post, dubbing the event "Pancake-Gate." -
