His on-stage persona is intense and captivating as you hang on to his every lyric, delivered with the poise and precision that Kendrick is known for. He wore black sclera contacts to show the haunting duality of "i," much like what we saw in the music video.On such a big occasion, Kendrick wanted to make the most of it and came out for a second performance. He brought out fellow Los Angeles rapper Jay Rock and featured singer Chantal to perform their collaboration "Pay for It." Chantal opens things up on the keys and showing off her vocal prowess before turning things over to Jay Rock and Kendrick Lamar, who trade verses under a shining spotlight and occasional strobing white light.

Both songs have already been unveiled to the public for some time, with "The Days" getting an official release on October 3 on all portals. "Night" was already previewed as part of the FIFA, the soccer video game '15 soundtrack.

The award show also gave out plaudits to Steve Aoki for Producer of the Year, David Guetta for Best French DJ of the Year, Avicii for Album of the Year for "True" and Best Male International DJ, Martin Garrix for Best Live Performance and Club Hit of the Year with "Animals" and DJ Oriska for Best Female DJ of the Year.With Hilton's popularity and polarizing nature in dance music, she might soon be topping that poll, though deadmau5 has an opinion on that.

The festival organizers, ID&T were given unanimous approval, something Electric Forest was not given, for its new site plan during a Tuesday planning board meeting with the town.

As reported by MTV, their latest move is to create an app where you can upload a picture of yourself to a website and your face will be superimposed onto one of several different people doing the Shmoney dance, like Shmurda himself, a soldier, Drake, James Harden and others.The app, titled the "#ShmoneyGram," allows you to upload a photo of your choice and creates GIFs of some of the most memorable Shmoney dance moments. It compiles them into a Shmoney dance GIF gallery, where you can see everyone else's Shmoney dance next to yours. The site clearly links to his single "Hot Nigga" and to his new EP "Shmurda She Wrote," which was released Monday, Nov. 10.

    The taxpayers of Los Angeles may be souring to Jay-Z and his Made in America festival. According to a report from the "Los Angeles Times," the city could be on the hook for $170,000 of the total bill for the festival.Aides to the mayor tell the "Times" that Live Nation, the promoter for the festival, was required to provide $500,000 to pay for police patrols, street closures, trash removal and other city services. The total bill for the festival is expected to reach close to $670,000, leaving the city to close the funding gap.Mayor Eric Garcetti was a big proponent in bringing the festival to Los Angeles and, according to "Billboard," "Says it shows L.A. is capable of hosting a huge outdoor concert."According to Carol Schatz, head of the downtown-based Central City Association, the economic impact cannot be simply measured in strict dollar amounts.

They stopped in at Hot 97 to chat with Ebro Darden on his radio show "Ebro in the Morning" about a variety of topics including Riff Raff, new music, their roots and more via Do Androids Dance.It is not often that you see two dance producers/DJs on a hip-hop morning radio show, but Skrillex and Diplo have become big enough to earn that honor. Ebro has been skeptical of Riff Raff, someone who Diplo signed to his label Mad Decent, and they both assure him about the seriousness of Riff Raff and agree he is a quirky, polarizing individual who loves what he does, which is what attracts Diplo to him.
  • Electric Forest Set to Return to Rothbury in 2015 After Final Permit Approved

    The show must and will go on. Electric Forest appears to have cleared its final hurdle to return with the 2015 edition of the Electric Forest Festival at Rothbury in Michigan. Yesterday evening, the Grant Township Board gave the festival its final permit approval for a mass gathering permit with a split vote of 3-2, according to local paper Oceana Country Press.There had been a fear that the permit might not be approved, despite the festival signing a 10-year lease with the site to hold the festival on the grounds for another 10 years. The mass-gathering permit has to be approved each year by the town committee.The festival has been mired in legal issues recently, with battles occurring between AEG Live/Madison House, the owners of the festival, and dance conglomerate SFX, which recently acquired the land the festival presides on. After months of legal back and forth, which involved a lengthy court battle and many public comments, a judge ruled in the favor of SFX and the company's right to own the property.

As reported by CBS, the broadcast will air footage from the NBC broadcast with additional performances from the casts of Broadway musicals "Matilda" and "Pippin."Thanksgiving parades have been an American tradition for decades. Running down the heart of New York City, they have greeted New Yorkers for decades now with their colorful and vibrant floats and balloons that run from Central Park West down to midtown, ending in front of the Macy's store at Herald Square.Now the parade has gotten the hottest artist in the world to perform live on the broadcast.According to NBC, another broadcast partner, additional performers and live guests on the NBC broadcast will include Kiss, Hilary Duff, Nick Jonas, Meghan Trainor, The Madden Brothers and many more. It should be a stacked lineup of artists and celebrities in addition to the musical performance from Swift on CBS.The broadcast will take place from 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
