Master P Talks Possibility of Signing Lil Wayne to No Limit Forever Label: 'Anything Is Possible' [WATCH]
Lil Wayne and Master P finally linked up on a few tracks, mending a longtime feud between Cash Money Records and the No Limit brand. The rumor mill began turning shortly thereafter that Weezy would be joining P's record label since there has been some problems in the Cash Money realm. Wayne has yet to comment on the speculation, but Master P stopped by "Sway in the Morning" to talk about the possibility."Anything is possible, but Wayne just making good music. I rapped on his record, he rapped on this 'Power' record, we're gonna build a relationship from there. However it goes, it's all official over here," he said, "Vibe" notes. It is all respect between the No Limit head and Birdman, at least on P's end, and he had nothing but kind words for the Cash Money team. Master P also praised Weezy's business sense."I'm there for him, if that's what he needs," P said. "But I think he know what he's doing with his situation. He's been in this game a long time, he's one of the best rappers in the world. I just appreciate me and him getting together."Wayne first shared his issues with Cash Money in December, blaming the label and Baby for the constant delays of his upcoming album "Tha Carter V." -
Kid Cudi Responds to Kendrick Lamar's Ferguson Views, Starts Twitter Beef with Lupe Fiasco
Kendrick Lamar's recent remarks on the murder of Michael Brown started a few beefs with the likes of Azealia Banks and Lupe Fiasco. The rapper said the problem is part of a bigger issue that starts with African-American communities. Kid Cudi shared his opinion on the statement before Fiasco took issue with his tweets, starting a sub-beef of sorts, "Vibe" notes."I wish somebody would look in our neighborhood knowing that it's already a situation, mentally, where it's f--ked up. What happened to [Michael Brown] should've never happened. Never. But when we don't have respect for ourselves, how do we expect them to respect us? It starts from within. Don't start with just a rally, don't start from looting — it starts from within," Lamar told "Billboard."Cudi's rant started yesterday, Jan. 10, and Fiasco interrupted soon after."Dear black artists, dont talk down on the black community like you are Gods gift to n---az everywhere. If you wanna help, inspire, uplift, don't point the blame and talk down," he tweeted. -

E!'s Giuliana Rancic noticed the rip, Taste of Country notes, and proceeded to ask Kelley about it."Is it true you have a hole in your pants?" she says in the video below as Hilary Scott and Dave Haywood laugh about the whole situation."It might be a little racy for TV," Kelley responds, showing off the tear. 'Whiplash' May Lose Oscar Nomination for Best Original Screenplay Due to a Technicality
"Whiplash" is one of 2014's best movies, and it is predicted to take home a few awards at the Oscars. J.K. Simmons gave the performance of his career in the jazz drumming drama and Miles Teller solidified himself as a true Hollywood heavyweight — and a damn fine percussionist. Unfortunately, the movie, directed by Damien Chazelle, may be excluded from the Best Writing category due to a technicality. As "Deadline" notes, "Whiplash" has not been included in the Best Original Screenplay category on initial voting lists. This is due to the fact that in order to get the movie financed, producers shot a brief scene from the script in order to entice funding. That short went on to win an award at the 2012 Sundance competition. The Academy deems it an adaptation of that short, and therefore ineligible to be included in the originals category. It is an unfortunate spot to be in, especially considering the fact that some voters think it could take home the statue for the category. -

The show will also roll through the Bronx in honor of Jennifer Lopez as well as Harry Connick Jr.'s New Orleans. The latter spoke to "The Hollywood Reporter" recently about the new season's talent and the departure of the show's last original judge, Randy Jackson."We are trying to find someone who can sell records and become a big superstar," Connick said. "Given the talent we've seen, that isn't going to be an issue. We are going to be OK."Last night's highlights included Riley Bria on an Urban tune, Cameron Bedell sharing some soul on a Ray LaMontangne track and Michael Simeon taking on Sam Smith's hit "Stay With Me." But Connick assured fans there were plenty of other yes votes from the Nashville session, which continues tonight on Fox."We had a ridiculous amount of talent through the door," he said. "At one point, there were 10 unanimous yeses. That has never happened before. It was really encouraging."Connick also talked about the departure of OG judge Jackson, who moved into a mentor role last season and announced his departure from the show in November. Connick now sits in Jackson's old seat. -
There's a Subreddit Dedicated to Taylor Swift's Armpits: Creator Explains Why the Thread Was Started
Let's get this out of the way: There is a whole subreddit dedicated to Taylor Swift's armpits. Yes, apparently there are people out there who are fascinated by the pop star's underarms. Pictures of the "1989" singer are posted throughout the thread, which was started by someone who deleted their profile, the A.V. Club notes. The subreddit popped up about a year ago, and its creator took to the comments section of a "Daily Dot" post to explain how the whole thing started. The sub was created after someone posted a picture of Swift in the plain, old /r/taylorswift forum and the creator commented on how nice her armpits looked. The creator was banned because "being a creep is not tolerated.""So I figured why not make a sub," the user wrote. "I am happy the sub has turned out the way it has, and enjoy that everyone finds it so strange my only hope is to one day see proof of Taylor herself acknowledging it's existence so that I can know that some nobody on a lark created something that indirectly allowed them to interact with Taylor Swift. I do like all the work she does and not just her armpits (although I still to this day maintain they are very nice)."The creator also is responsible for the /r/taylorswiftbum, but the armpit subreddit remains a popular site. There are more than 80 pictures posted and now the community is celebrating its recent publicity stint. Check out the thread /r/taylorswiftarmpit, if that is your thing. -

They will be following in the footsteps of Kiss, Guns N' Roses and Mötley Crüe, all of which have played the venue in the last few years. Lead vocalist Steve Perry left the group in 1998. He was replaced by Steve Augeri, who played with the band for nearly 10 years and was dismissed for chronic vocal troubles. Journey found their current lead singer, Arnel Pineda, via YouTube. The vocalist has cut two records with the band in 2008 and 2011."Journey is an iconic band and their songs resonate with music enthusiasts across the board," Bobby Reynolds of AEG Live said. "Fans will hear all of Journey's timeless hits at The Joint. We cannot wait to offer concertgoers this epic experience." -
'American Idol' Season 14 Recap & Review: 5 Best Auditions from the Show's Nashville Premiere
American Idol looks much different from what I remember. Full disclosure, I ditched the show after its midway point in Season Seven when David Cook earned the title. The judges - Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban - are prettier than the original three, way less failed auditions air, and Coca Cola bailed on the competition. What remains (and this is what keeps the series on the air) is the allure that in a matter of months a nobody can become a household name and be propelled into the limelight. Oh yeah, and Ryan Seacrest is still here too. -

Robert Plant Praises Phil Collins for Encouraging His Solo Career After Led Zeppelin's Split
Robert Plant recently revealed that after John Bonham's death and Led Zeppelin's split, there was one musician who really helped jumpstart his solo career. Genesis drummer/singer Phil Collins gave the vocalist some much-needed encouragement to break out as a solo act. Plant has now been recording music as a solo artist for more than three decades and he has been quite successful. After Zeppelin disbanded, Plant did not know how to start over, but other musicians were ready to play with the popular singer, Blabbermouth notes."I made my business to go out and start again at the age of 32 — it's, like, hysterical, really, when you think about it now," he said. "But I worked and worked with these guys — Robbie Blunt, who was a particularly fine guitarist. And I was graced by my first two solo records 'Pictures at Eleven' and 'The Principle of Moments.' A drummer contacted me and said, 'I love Bonham so much I wanna sit behind you when you sing. It was Phil Collins. His career was just kicking in and he was the most spirited and positive and really encouraging force, because you can't imagine what it was like, me trying to carve my own way after all that." -
Bradley Cooper Shreds Air Guitar on Neil Young's 'Down by the River' for Jimmy Fallon on 'The Tonight Show' [WATCH]
Bradley Cooper is one of Hollywood's biggest stars. His upcoming film, "American Sniper," is creating some serious awards buzz while the reviews of his Broadway performance in "The Elephant Man" have been positive. It turns out that Cooper has a few other talents, though, including some serious chops as an air guitarist. During a recent visit to "The Tonight Show," the actor showed Jimmy Fallon and his audience how well he knows Neil Young's "Down by the River" on the air ax.Cooper made it clear that his musical talents are not widely known during his hilarious interview with Fallon."I play an air guitar," he says in the clip below. "There's one song by Neil Young that I feel like, I don't know if everybody knows this, so I'm proud I know it. It's just the guitar solo of 'Down by the River.'"Cooper could not explain why he memorized that particular song, but it is obvious that he is a fan. While wearing a ridiculous wig — it is kind of a thing for the pair now — the actor stood up and plucked his invisible Gibson Les Paul, much to the delight of the host and viewers. Roots guitarist Kirk Douglas took over the duties before the show went to a commercial break. -
Sting's 'The Last Ship' Coming to an End on Broadway: Producers Pull the Plug on Shipyard Musical
Sting's first try at Broadway, "The Last Ship," will come to an end Jan. 24 after a four-month run. The former Police frontman composed the music for the play, eventually joining the cast to help boost ticket sales. But even the singer's involvement onstage was not enough to save the production. Poor sales during the holiday rush contributed to the show's demise, "The New York Times" reports."We have been bewildered and saddened by our inability to sustain an audience for this musical that we deeply love," the producers wrote in a statement. "There are no easy explanations."According to the "Times," the show cost $15 million to bring to Broadway and $625,000 to keep it going each week. Ticket sales were steady when the show opened in October, but they doubled last month when Sting joined the cast as the shipyard foreman. Most musicals were breaking records last week, a peak time for Broadway with tourists flooding the streets of New York for the holidays. "The Last Ship," on the other hand, underperformed. -
Man Accused of Murdering Father in Maine Brings Up Slayer at Hearing, Ruled Not Competent to Stand Trial [WATCH]
A man charged with brutally murdering his father and cutting up his remains was recently ruled incompetent to stand trial in Maine. During a hearing yesterday, Jan. 5, Leroy Smith III told the judge that the band Slayer had once been present in 2011 when he had a gun pointed at his head. His statement had nothing to do with the May 2014 slaying and Smith was subsequently ruled unfit to stand trial, centralmaine.com reports.Smith described a bizarre scenario during his hearing despite the judge telling him that if he spoke he would be removed from the courtroom."With my case, they're telling me that my story is delusional grandiose of proceedings that happened, and they're not investigating it," he said."The fact of the matter [is that] in 2011 I had a gun pointed to my head and was sworn to keep secret of what I am. And they refused investigating any persons that are responsible. The whole entire music group Slayer was there. I was told then that what they did was too overboard. I sent them a message on Facebook and that Jeff Hanneman, the guitarist, takes his own life. He took his own life May 5 of 2013."Founding guitarist Hanneman died May 3, 2013, from liver failure. -

Sony recently introduced the latest incarnation of its portable music player, the Walkman, and it is a far cry from the 1979 original. The ZX2 Walkman plays tunes at a higher resolution than CDs, MP3s and streaming files. The only downside to casual music lovers is that the device costs $1,120, CNN Tech reports."The new Walkman ZX2 is a great example of the quality of our high-res audio offerings," Sony Electronics executive Mike Fasulo said. "This Walkman is tailored for outstanding sound, and every piece of material and component has been crafted to realize the ultimate high-res audio experience on the move."Features for the device include 128 GB of storage — about 2,000 songs — a micro SD card port, Wi-Fi capabilities and a 60-hour battery life. Oddly enough, it runs the Android platform Jelly Bean, which is a little outdated. The ZX2 will be available in the spring. It comes at an opportune time for the company — Apple discontinued its flagship product, the iPod Classic, last year. Nearly two decades ago, Apple introduced the iPod to the world and it dethroned the Walkman as the most popular portable music device.
