There has been so much talk lately about Rosie O'Donnell's unhappiness on "The View," mostly because of her almost-daily clashes with Whoopi Goldberg. If you have tuned in for even only a few minutes you will realize the tension that hangs in the air between these two. A few weeks ago, rumors started swirling that O'Donnell might not even make it the entire season without quitting, and after an ugly fight on camera between the two this morning, we almost have to wonder if ABC is hoping for that to happen.O'Donnell and Goldberg have not seen eye to eye lately on issues such as the Bill Cosby scandal or the Ferguson protests, and today they clashed over racism, with Goldberg insisting that O'Donnell had no idea what it is.Both Goldberg and O'Donnell addressed each other in a heated exchange that left the other women at the roundtable unsure of what to say. -
ABC's Elizabeth Vargas Is Getting Cozy with Her Co-Worker Dave Davis While Struggling to Stay Sober Through Divorce
Elizabeth Vargas has been grabbing more headlines in the last few years because of her personal problems than any of her work on ABC's "20/20" has garnered. She willingly went to rehab last year after admitting to being an alcoholic and then decided a second stint as an inpatient was necessary for her recovery this year. She is currently going through a divorce from her husband of 12 years, Marc Cohen, and according to sources there is a new man helping her through all the turmoil.According to Page Six, WABC/Channel 7 station manager Dave Davis has often been spotted out and about in New York City with Vargas. The two have known each other for many years because of both working at ABC, and Vargas has trusted Davis's support while going through some difficult stuff. Cohen has said in the past that the issues in their marriage were longstanding but that he continues to support Vargas's addressing her problems and recovery, just as he always has.Sources close to Vargas have said she and Davis are just friends and that she does not feel like this is the right time in her life to start anything new. Instead, she is remaining focused on her recovery. -
Columbus Short Admits to Cocaine Use, Causing His Life to Spiral Out of Control Before Being Fired from 'Scandal'
Columbus Short has had a life-altering year, as he began it starring on "Scandal," one of prime time's top dramas, and is wrapping it up by coming clean about his drug use. Short made headlines for a bar fight as well as alleged domestic violence against his then-wife Tuere Short and quickly found himself fired and divorced. In April, Short confirmed that he would not be returning to "Scandal" for a fourth season and graciously wished his former cast mates the best.On Wednesday, Dec. 10, the actor appeared on "Access Hollywood" to discuss what unraveled him."I was struggling with drugs. I had a lot on my plate, and you know, I was using unhealthy ways to kind of self-medicate and deal with a lot of heavy-duty stuff in my life. I was doing cocaine and drinking a lot, and trying to balance a 16-hour work schedule a day, and a family, and I just lost myself back then."Short also says the suicide of his best friend, Lee Thompson Young, sent him into a downward spiral because he simple did not know how to handle it. He also admits that his friends from the hit ABC show tried their best to cover for and support him ... until his behavior went too far. -
Diane Sawyer's Famed Oscar-Winning Director Husband Mike Nichols Has Died
Sad news this morning as we have learned that Mike Nichols, one of the all-time greats of American filmmaking, has died at the age of 83. Nichols, who directed films such as "The Graduate," "Primary Colors" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," was married to ABC news anchor Diane Sawyer. It was the head of ABC News, Jeff Goldston, who broke the news this morning in a staff note that read:"I am writing with the very sad news that Diane's husband, the incomparable Mike Nichols, passed away suddenly on Wednesday evening. In a triumphant career that spanned over six decades, Mike created some of the most iconic works of American film, television and theater — an astonishing canon ranging from "The Graduate," "Working Girl" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" to "Closer," "Charlie Wilson's War," "Annie," "Spamalot," "The Birdcage" and "Angels in America." He was a true visionary, winning the highest honors in the arts for his work as a director, writer, producer and comic and was one of a tiny few to win the EGOT — an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony." -
'General Hospital' Star Kimberly McCullough to Direct New Disney Channel Series 'KC Undercover' Starring Zendaya
When Kimberly McCullough left her role as Robin Scorpio on "General Hospital" earlier this year, the actress said she wanted to branch out and focus on working on the other side of the camera as a director. McCullough will be directing an upcoming episode of "KC Undercover," Disney Channel's new comedy starring Zendaya Coleman.McCullough announced the news via her official Twitter and, ironically enough, she is not the only veteran soap star to decide to leave a plum acting job in favor of working behind the scenes. Allison Sweeney's final scenes as Sami Brady on "Days of Our Lives" aired last week, and after 22 years in character she, too, is excited to direct. -

In case the build up for this show wasn't already huge (it was) it grabbed even more headlines in the past week when a New York Times tv critic made the mistake of dismissing the amazing Shonda Rhimes as an "angry, black woman". Fans as well as a nice parade of stars who have been fortunate enough to voice characters carefully crafted by Rhimes swung back until the NYT's issued an apology of sorts and even more people were prepared to tune into this new show. -
Rosie O’Donnell Compares The Way Of Auditioning ‘The View’ Co-hosts To ‘The Hunger Games'
Rosie O'Donnell already knows exactly how hard it is to play nice when you purposely put several unique women together and ask them to hash out serious topics amongst themselves. Her first stint as a co-host on ABC's 'The View' didn't end well so many were shocked when her return to the show this season was confirmed. Rosie claims to have grown enough to care a little less what people think of her now but she still was quite shocked at how negative the process of casting other co-hosts ended up being. -
