• Chicago 6th Grade Substitute Teacher Fired For Giving Students Lessons on Chief Keef

    Chief Keef has invited both academic inquiry and derision with his often-controversial rhymes and behavior. However, until now, mention of the Chicago rapper in the classroom was scant, especially in elementary school. As was previously reported, this did not deter a substitute teacher from John Fiske Elementary School in Chicago from creating a lesson plan for her sixth grade music class surrounding the legally troubled rapper and his short history since his sudden rise to fame in mid-2012. The lesson plan also included homework about Chris Brown. Due to backlash, the teacher was fired.

    Chicago parents are outraged that a substitute teacher taking over for a colleague on extended league gave a lesson plan and test on popular hometown rapper Chief Keef. The test covered such important topics such as the Bang 3 rapper's age, when he dropped out of school and the name of his song with another Chicago native, Kanye West.
