Back in February, Conor Oberst was accused of raping a 16-year-old girl back after a concert in 2003. He vehemently denied the claims and subsequently sued for $1.2 million for defamation. Now Joanie Faircloth (real name Joan Elizabeth Harris), the woman who accused Oberst of rape, has issued a public apology to the singer-songwriter, admitting the allegations were made up, Pitchfork reports. -

Back in February of this year, TMZ reported that Bright Eyes’ own Conor Oberst was accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in 2003. In recent news, Oberst is now asserting that the entire situation tanked his record deal, which was worth upwards of $200,000. Naturally, he wants his money even more now. -

Today (Feb. 11), Oberst began streaming a new single "Hundreds Of Ways" on his official YouTube account and announced a 20-city tour for late spring alongside Americana rock act Dawes. -

Part of the "It Happened to Me" series, the anonymous writer has a detailed recount of her alleged relationship with Bright Eyes' front man Conor Oberst. The post has been reblogged on Tumblr and from there spread like wildfire, causing Oberst and his team to release a statement to AbsolutePunk.net.
