• Diplo's Mad Decent Launching Mexican Beach Party In 2017

    Diplo's label Mad Decent has grown from just being an outlet to release new music for himself and a growing stable of artists - it has also become a global event promotions brand. This year marked the first time that Diplo's Mad Decent Block Party exited North America, taking place in several cities across India. Mad Decent also launched its own boat party and with a new announcement, it looks to keep the tropical, beach theme going with the Mad Decent Beach Party. The four day event will take place in 2017 in Mexico.

    The Electronic Music Awards & Foundation show has announced the nominees for its inaugural edition this year. The nominees for the first ever televised award show for electronic music vary across seven different categories ranging from Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Best New Artist and DJ of the Year. Among those nominated are Ultra Music Festival, Kygo, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Diplo and Fabric.

The first leg of the tour featured guest appearances from Wacka Flocka Flame, Skrillex and Diplo as Jack U, Marshmello, Ookay, Kill the Noise, Dirtyphonics and What So Not among others.

He has become heavily involved with Spotify, while expanding the reach of his label and its parties Mad Decent Block Party to India. Now he has announced that he is joining a consortium of new investors that include his management team TMWRK, to invest in USL club Arizona United Soccer Club.

    Despite a few lawsuits, Spotify is continuing to expand its empire. Today, Jan. 12, it has announced a new partnership with crowd-sourcing lyrics company Genius that will take user "behind the lyrics." To help inaugurate these new playlists, Spotify has enlisted the help of a few artists well versed in making big tunes, Diplo, Pusha T and Tinashe to take listeners deeper into the meaning of these songs as the artists intended them.

    Marshmello, the anonymous producer/DJ known for serving-up a s'more-like hybrid of trap-styled house and future bass while dressed as a huge fluffy marshmallow, has self-released his debut album titled Joytime. While the full-length has already garnered massive support--in a recent Facebook post the producer shared that the LP reached No. 1 on the iTunes top electronic albums chart shortly after dropping--the true identity of the masked musician remains a mystery.
