  • Steve Albini Talks Playing Santa Claus on Christmas with Jeff Tweedy, Fred Armisen

For the past two decades, Steve Albini and his wife Heather Whinna have spent every Christmas morning delivering gifts to families in need throughout Chicago. The legendary audio engineer known for producing too many groundbreaking records to count, who is also kind of a notorious curmudgeon, recently published a heartwarming essay on The Huffington Post entitled "Why I Haven't Had a Conventional Christmas in 20 Years," in which he explains why he and his wife started playing Santa Claus and why, often with the help of famous friends including Wilco's Jeff Tweedy and Portlandia's Fred Armisen, they continue this charitable tradition that makes for an even better holiday story than even the folklore behind the old "Yes, Virginia" editorial.

  • Sleater-Kinney Share New Song 'Surface Envy' From Upcoming Album 'No Cities To Love' [LISTEN]

Recently reunited punk heroes Sleater-Kinney have shared another new song from their upcoming album "No Cities To Love," an unruly riff storm titled "Surface Envy," which you can check out below. The track, which originally premiered during an NPR interview but has now surfaced online, is classic Sleater-Kinney: dark post-punk riffs played on fuzzy guitars with singer Corin Tucker wailing over the top of it all, so diehard fans will not be disappointed. Tucker's voice has certainly matured, but she still maintains its distinctive power.
