Curren$y, Freddie Gibbs Share "Fetti" From 'Welcome to Los Santos' [LISTEN]
Curren$y and Freddie Gibbs have shared their collaboration "Fetti" for the new compilation inspired by 'GTA V' titled 'Welcome to Los Santos.' Created and compiled by Alchemist and Oh No and heavily influenced by their work on the score of 'Grand Theft Auto' with late composer Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream and Woody Jackson, the album features tracks from the likes of E-40, Action Bronson and Danny Brown, Phantogram, Vybz Kartel and others. -
Flying Lotus Shares Doom Collaboration 'Masquatch' From 'Grand Theft Auto V' [LISTEN]
Just yesterday, experimental hip-hop producer Flying Lotus shared a new track from the upcoming re-release of Grand Theft Auto V called "Medication Meditation," featuring Krayzie Bone. Today, FlyLo is back with "Masquatch," another weird yet incredible song from the soundtrack, featuring underground hip-hop visionary DOOM (a.k.a. MF DOOM, a.k.a. Viktor Vaughn, a.k.a. King Geedorah). The track's extremely brief running time (it comes it under two minutes) is reminiscent of DOOM's classic Madlib collaboration Madvillain, and its abstract, hookless production wouldn't sound out of place on their Madvillainy LP. -
Freddie Gibbs Shot At in Brooklyn, Two People Injured
Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs was shot at early this morning, Nov. 4, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the "New York Post" reports. The 32-year-old rapper had just finished a performance at Rough Trade Records around 1 a.m. when a gunman ran up to his SUV and fired several shots. Gibbs was unhurt, though two people in his entourage received non-life threatening wounds, with one being hit in the hand and one in the leg, and are in stable condition.Following the shooting, Gibbs reportedly ran back to Rough Trade and spotted the gunman fleeing the crime scene. He has not yet been identified or arrested. -
The Game Shares "Hit 'Em Hard" Featuring Bobby Shmurda, Freddie Gibbs, and Skeme [LISTEN]
Just yesterday, Oct. 7, the Game leaked a new track "Married to the Game" from his upcoming album Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf, and today, he's leaked yet another new track. The appropriately titled "Hit 'Em Hard" features furious guest verses from Freddie Gibbs and Skeme, and a hook from Bobby Schmurda. If the Game keeps leaking songs at this pace, he's going to end up giving us the entire album before it's even released.
