Bonnaroo Will Announce Lineup Via Fans on Social Media Next Week for 2015 Festival
Bonnaroo 2015 is only six months away, and while the lineup is usually announced in February, organizers will share some of the performers next week. The Bonnaroo Lineup Announcement Megathon will take place Jan. 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fans will be able to call a phone number to receive updates, and then they can share the information on social media using the hashtag #Bonnaroo, "Consequence of Sound" notes.If you want to find out who will be at The Farm in June, call 1-844-ROO-2015 during the BLAM. Organizers will also share a preview of Skrillex's documentary of the festival's Superjam tradition. Scottish indie pop legends Belle & Sebastian have shared another track from their upcoming album Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance, titled "The Cat with the Cream," which you can check out below. Though the previous songs that have been shared so far from the album have been pretty upbeat and fun, "The Cat with the Cream" is far more dramatic and low-key, with a prominent string section and almost no percussion other than a steady kick drum. The lyrics are also more political than we're used to hearing from frontman Stuart Murdoch, with lines about Tories and the boom/bust nature of capitalist economies. -
Ty Segall Shares Title Track from New EP 'Mr. Face' [LISTEN]
Next week, Ty Segall will be dropping his new EP "Mr. Face," but today the California garage rock wizard has shared the EP's title track through the Famous Class Records Bandcamp page, which you can check out below. The sound of the track comes off as a cross between Segall's last two solo albums "Manipulator" and "Sleeper," being largely acoustic and percussion free — at least until the end — but definitely not mellow in any way. The White Stripes To Release Live Album, DVD 'Under Amazonian Lights'
asdAs part of Third Man Records' Vault subscription series, Jack White will be releasing a White Stripes live album and DVD titled Under Amazonian Lights, which documents a concert in Manaus, Brazil on June 1, 2005 during the tour in support of the duo's fifth album Get Behind Me Satan. According to Consequence of Sound, the album will be pressed "blood red vinyl with stark black wisps," and features covers of songs by Bob Dylan, Howlin' Wolf, and Son House alongside the expected White Stripes classics.
