The 'Yeezus' collaborator and Chicago based rapper, who is also credited with inventing the term "Chi-Raq" in a nod to his native Chicago had a near-death experience after being shot in the head, and taking a full seven bullets. Two have yet to be extracted from his chest and one is still embedded in his head. In an interview with CNN, Johnson talks the shooting and the topic of gun violence in Chicago.

    Saint West, a Canadian rapper, has retired because the artist name he has used throughout the duration of his career is no longer his own. Shortly after the birth of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby, the Vancouver based rapper announced that he would be retiring from the music industry. Kardashian and West announced the name of their baby in early December (Dec. 5). Since Saint West was relatively unknown, it is unclear just how successful he was in the industry before retiring.

The artist's real name is Louis Johnson Jr. He was featured on the Yeezus album song "Send It Up," which helped to cement the word "Chiraq" into the hip-hop vocabulary. Ironically, "Chiraq" refers to the gun violence that occurs on Chicago streets on a daily basis.
