• Kendrick Lamar Talks 'To Pimp a Butterfly,' Lil Wayne, Earl Sweatshirt in Twitter Q&A

Kendrick Lamar is not known as one of the most active members of the social media community, leaving posts for the most important news like release dates. He has been building his buzz on radio TV, hitting radio shows all over the country, before and after the album release, while also performing songs on late night spots. The album has since been incredibly successful, going gold in the United States, despite not having any clear "radio hits" and a track atop the charts. But to remedy his lack of interaction lately, he took to Twitter to answer a few questions from fans in an #AskKendrick Q&A segment, where he talked about Lil Wayne, his album 'To Pimp a Butterfly' and Earl Sweatershirt.
  • 'Furious 7' Tops Billboard 200 Thanks to Wiz Khalifa; Taylor Swift Sets Mark and All Time Low Hits All Time High

If you've watched Fast Five, you know that Vin Diesel's character Dominic Toretto knows that it's all about how you finish, not how you begin (although he allows Paul Walker's Brian to win the four-man street race in Brazil). The Furious 7 soundtrack is living that philosophy as it reached the no. 1 place on the Billboard 200 four weeks after its release. Part of last week's 111,000 equivalent album sales is thanks to the film's continued success at the box office, but an even bigger part of it is the popularity of "See You Again," the single from Wiz Khalifa that's tearing up the download charts. All Time Low and Taylor Swift place well as well.
  • Kendrick Lamar, Punch Hop On BJ the Chicago Kid, Schoolboy Q's "It's True" Remix [LISTEN]

While the world has been licking its chops waiting for the official Kendrick Lamar remix of Kanye West's "All Day" to drop, the 'To Pimp a Butterfly' rapper quietly laid down a verse on BJ the Chicago Kid's "It's True" that originally features Schoolboy Q. The TDE firepower, with label president Punch, brings out a new street level toughness to the track. Originally taken from BJ the Chicago Kid's November mixtape 'The M.A.F.E. Project,' which featured the likes of Freddie Gibbs and Schoolboy Q, the track has an easygoing beat, with a catchy riff that serves as the perfect platform for other rappers to lay down their own verses.
  • Kendrick Lamar's Kanye West "All Day" Verse Surfaces [LISTEN]

After a short, six-second clip surfaced on the Web last week, it appears as though the full verse from Kendrick Lamar for the remix of Kanye West's "All Day" has leaked onto the Web. The verse sees Kendrick at almost "Control" levels of bravado, calling himself the "Rap Derek Jeter," acknowledging his greatness "ask me how long do it take to be the greatest / I'm the Broadway ho, swish it, swish it / Damn Kanye never will I be safe, bitch I already know."
  • Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus Interview: 'To Pimp A Butterfly' Rapper Talks Recurring Dreams, Influences, Advice With "Wesley's Theory" Producer On BBC Radio 1 [LISTEN]

In the interview, Lamar spoke about the ideas and influences that went into making the album a success and gave advice to his fans, urging them "put your heart over a number or a dollar sign." He also talked about recurring dreams he has. Here's what he had to say:
  • Flying Lotus To Interview Kendrick Lamar About New Album 'To Pimp A Butterfly' During BBC Radio 1 Residency Tonight (April 9)

Throughout his current residency with BBC Radio 1, Flying Lotus has not only gifted listeners with new music, including songs from Joey Bada$ and Thundercat, and old gems, such as Herbie Hancock classics, but he's also provided some interesting exchanges with other artists. Following interviews with Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood and Hancock, FlyLo will be sitting down for a conversation with his frequent collaborator Kendrick Lamar, the DJ/producer revealed on Instagram this morning.
  • Wale, Ludacris and Kendrick Lamar Keep Hip-Hop in Top Three Spots of Billboard Albums Chart

Wale, Ludacris and Kendrick Lamar helped ensure that hip-hop took the top three spots on the Album Sales Chart for the second week in a row. Wale, who was also no. 1 on the Billboard 200, sold 90,500 copies of his new record The Album About Nothing. Ludacris got a boost from the strict album sales format of this chart (he placed no. 3 due to stream numbers helping the Furious 7 soundtrack on the 200) and placed no. 2 with Ludaversal, selling 59,000 copies of his new album. Kendrick Lamar was at no. 1 for two weeks with To Pimp A Butterfly but he'll settle for no. 3 this week after selling another 52,500 copies.
  • Kendrick Lamar Verse Surfaces On Kanye West's "All Day" Remix [LISTEN]

A collaboration between Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar might finally be on its way. Earlier today, a six-second snippet of West's new single "All Day" surfaced online with a verse from the Compton rapper. Although it's not much of a preview, K. Dot seems to be going hard as usual for the "All Day" remix. Lamar is listed with a writing credit on the original version, so it's possible that this remix will be the version that makes the new album, So Help Me God.
