• Mariah Carey Joins Justin Bieber, French Montana & T.I. for 'Why You Mad'

Mariah Carey recently released '#1 to Infinity,' a compilation of all of her No. 1 hits. Aside from a staggering 18 No. 1 records, the album also included one new track, "Infinity." The song peaked at No. 82 on Billboard, though this new remix, titled "Why You Mad," featuring Justin Bieber, French Montana and T.I., should take on a life of its own.
  • Mariah Carey Christmas Movie Coming to Hallmark in December

Mariah Carey is the unofficial queen of Christmas, with her own radio classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You," two holiday albums and a concert series at Radio City Music Hall every December, and now the "Infinity" singer is moving into the next area of the wintery market - her own made-for-TV holiday movie on Hallmark.
  • 7 Musicians in Playboy: Madonna, Mariah Carey, Azealia Banks and More

Thirty years ago, pop fans-but mostly guys interested in the female form-received the most recent issue of Playboy, which featured superstar Madonna on the cover. Looking back, it doesn't seem all too surprising that perhaps the biggest female performer in history stripped down for the men's magazine...after all, she released a whole book of risqué content with Sex during 1992. But for the most part, Playboy has been an arena more enticing to film and television actresses, as well as other recognizable characters. Musicians have been more rare, but they drop in from time-to-time.
  • Why Wiz Khalifa and 'See You Again' Won't Break Hot 100 Hip-Hop Record

Wiz Khalifa (and Charlie Puth) stand on the brink of history, having tied the streak for the longest period for any hip-hop song atop the Billboard Hot 100 with "See You Again," the showcase number from the Furious 7 soundtrack. Unfortunately, the likelihood that they break that record upon the release of next week's numbers.
  • Mariah Carey, Madonna and TLC: The Longest Hot 100 Streaks of 1995

TLC celebrated the beginning of its longest streak on the Hot 100 on this date 20 years ago, as "Waterfalls" topped the singles charts for seven weeks afterward. Now, the Hot 100 is different than the Billboard 200 in that it's rare for any one album to top the chart for more than a few weeks, while songs can rack up huge runs on their chart. For example, only two albums have been at no. 1 for more than one week during 2015 (Taylor Swift's 1989 and Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly), while Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" has ruled the Hot 100 for 14 weeks thus far (the other 14 weeks have been split between Swift and Wiz Khalifa). Five songs managed to stay at no. 1 for seven weeks or more during 1995...so at least 35 of the year's 52 weeks were owned by just five songs. Check out the playlist of '95's most popular tracks.
  • The Eagles' 5 No. 1 Hits May Surprise You (Hint: 'Already Gone' Ain't One)

Today marks the 40th anniversary of The Eagles' "One of These Nights" getting to no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Getting to the top of the pop charts is one of the most difficult accomplishments in music, even for a major act (and even more difficult than topping the Billboard 200 albums chart). The Eagles has managed to do it five times across the band's lengthy career, and that's nothing to yawn at. Music Times decided to check out what five songs managed to peak on the chart...and were fairly surprised at what we found. If you were expecting "Take It Easy," "Peaceful Easy Feeling," "Already Gone" or other lasting hits from Their Greatest Hits...be prepared to be surprised.
  • Mariah Carey Smartest of Pop Stars? New Lyric Study Says 'Yes'

How much can you tell about someone based on the music they listen to? Well, if you believe one study from SeatSmart, you may come away thinking that everyone who listens to music is an idiot, based on the average reading level required to comprehend the lyrics of popular songs. The blog comprised its surprising findings by gathering every song from the last 10 years that has spent three or more weeks atop the pop, country, rock or hip-hop charts and then come up with an average reading level for each. The results are bad all around.
  • Billboard Hot 100 vs. Official Charts Company: Mariah Carey, Wiz Khalifa and 40 Years of No. 1s

Few people realize just how different the music across the pond is from that we listen to in America, that the Hot 100 doesn't exist in the UK, and that its equivalent to our singles chart doesn't just feature a whole bunch of American artists with even more One Direction and Ellie Goulding tracks. Music Times is looking back at the last five decades of music, and at the no. 1 hits on April 2 every ten years on the spot, going back to 1975. The ultimate contest, of course, is which country has better taste. Last month the win went to the UK in the best-of-five showdown. This month features Wiz Khalifa, Jason Derulo, Mariah Carey and more in the field.
