San Francisco's Outside Lands Festival will feature the headlining talents of Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar, Elton John and The Black Keys this year. The event is scheduled for Aug. 7-9 at the Golden Gate Park. Tickets for the festival go on sale Thursday, March 26. -

As previously reported, Mumford & Sons are going a different direction on their third album, Wilder Mind. They are trading in their banjo-driven acoustic sound for something more electric. The new 12-track album was recorded at Air Studios, London and produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, HAIM, Florence + The Machine) with a number of the songs written in Aaron Dessner's (The National) garage studios in Brooklyn. -

The Mumford & Sons arena folk trend is a few years old at this point, but One Direction is still shooting for that epic sound in their new single “Ready To Run,” which you can check out below. With some acoustic guitar arpeggios, huge beats, and a healthy dose of “woah-oh!” chants, this definitely sounds like a pop anthem for 2014. Just for good measure, there's also some U2-inspired electric guitar in the choruses.
