Lorde Says Nicki Minaj Almost Contributed to 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' Soundtrack
Lorde's highly anticipated soundtrack for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" was released earlier this week to much excitement. With the film premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, Nov. 21, the New Zealand songstress can take some time to look back on the whole process, like she did in a recent interview with "The FADER." Although the album features a slew of big names, Lorde did not get every artist she wanted ... like Nicki Minaj."When I first approached the project, I thought I would chose 15 artists and they'd be the 15 artists I was with three months later," she said. "But obviously, it evolved like crazy."According to Lorde, whatever Minaj was going to do for the album was going to be "amazing," but the "Anaconda" singer was too busy with her next album, "The Pink Print," to contribute. But the "Royals" singer was nothing but supportive."... I'm happy we're going to get a new Nicki Minaj album to listen to at the gym for six months," she added. -
