This week served as another chance for 2013's biggest hits to spend another week in the Billboard Top 10 as only one new release managed to crack into the upper ranks of album sales. The albums that stuck around managed to make some marks however. -

One Direction is taking that Mumford and Sons go boy band thing from its new studio album Midnight Memories even one step further. Earlier this week, a new version of the standout track "Happily" arrived online, and this time the UK five piece are going full-on acoustic. -
Brit Awards announce 2014 nominees including One Direction, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry [Full List]
Awards Season has officially begun. The Grammys are just weeks away, and now the nominees for the 2014 Brit Awards have been announces. At the top of the list are two British acts, Disclosure (collaborator Sam Smith just won BBC's Sound of 2014) and Bastille, who have four nominations each. Despite not being up for any Grammy nominations (likely due to not being eligible this year), One Direction has been nominated as well for British Single and British Group. -
Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears take home trophies at People's Choice Awards Music [FULL WINNERS LIST]
The 40th Annual People's Choice Awards took place Wednesday night (Jan. 8) in all its awkward, 2 Broke Girls hosted glory. Among a slew of TV show winners and Adam Sandler somehow winning Favorite Comedic Movie Actor, there were live musical performances and two whole awards dished out to pop's biggest acts. -
Pitbull, Ke$ha and 'Timber' rule Digital Downloads again, A Great Big World and OneRepublic follow
Last week's Digital Downloads Top 10 (Top 50 for that matter) all saw an increase in sales thanks to the giving of iTunes gift cards, etc. during the holidays. That resulted in this week's inevitable drop off for all of the songs in the Top 10, which all saw a decrease in sales from last week. That doesn't mean sales were bad however: Five songs still broke 200,000 in total downloads, up from the typical two or three. -
Frozen tops Billboard 200, dethrones Beyoncé and holds off Eminem
Temperatures have been cold across the country, and so have album sales. Due to the end of the year and the low number of new releases that comes with it, the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 features a slew of familiar faces, but at least the door opened up for a few hits from throughout 2013 to make a reappearance. -
UK vinyl sales exploded in 2013, Arctic Monkeys and Daft Punk at top
It was a "record" breaking year for vinyl sales in the UK. Or at least the highest it's been since 1997 when 817,000 records were sold, The Telegraph reports. Data from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and the Official Charts Company show 780,000 vinyl albums were sold. Topping the sales was Arctic Monkeys' AM and Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. -
Pitbull, Ke$ha, Eminem and Rihanna end year atop Billboard Digital Downloads chart
Music Times warned you that the final Digital Downloads' chart of the year would be chalk full of sales thanks to people cashing in on the iTunes/download cards they received for Christmas. And sure enough, it was a huge week. Every song in the Top 50 saw a sales increase, and 46 of those tracks saw rises of more than 100 percent (aka doubling in sales since last week). -

One Direction don't have to wait until 12:00 tonight to make some "Midnight Memories." The boy band already have something huge to celebrate: its third studio album "Midnight Memories" was the top-selling album of the year in the UK. -
Most charitable celebrities of 2013 include Taylor Swift, One Direction, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Paul Walker, Justin Bieber and more
DoSomething.org, a social change nonprofit site, has released is list of the most charitable celebrities of 2013. According to the list pop-country crossover star Taylor Swift topped the organization's annual "Top 20 Celebs Gone Good" for the second consecutive year. -
A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera top Digital Downloads charts for second week
The end of the year didn't bring any new albums to the Billboard 200 Top 10 this week, and the Top 10 of the Digital Downloads charts didn't bring too many fresh faces either.
