    "Days of our Lives" star Freddie Smith has plead guilty in an Ohio court to a string of charges stemming from an Oct. 7 accident that critically injured his girlfriend, Alyssa Tabit. The actor was allegedly drunk when he got behind the wheel after leaving a wedding reception with Tabit. Smith is accused of misjudging a turn and crossing the center line of State Route 84 before hitting a culvert which caused the car to flip end-over-end.

  • 'Y&R' Actor Corey Sligh Beaten After Purposely Being Hit By a Car on Thanksgiving

    This past Thanksgiving is likely one Corey Sligh will never forget. The actor, who has popped up on "The Young and the Restless" in various roles, stopped at a Rite Aid drug store in Los Angeles with his girlfriend Alisa Berhorst, and one comment lead to a violent altercation, according to "The Hollywood Reporter."The couple was originally making a quick stop before going to help feed those who were less privileged when a car in the parking lot was hopping curbs and doing donuts. Sligh noticed that the two men inside the vehicle were narrowly missing hitting people, and he suggested that they slow down. Instead of doing that, they purposely hit Sligh with the car and then got out and beat him!The men eventually sped off, but later crashed the car and were arrested by police. Sligh is still hospitalized at Cedars Sinai, where he will stay for at least a few more days. He reached out to fans via his Instagram, saying:"Hey kids, went to feed some people last night who don't have blessed thanksgivings and along the way got struck by a drunk driver! Have a surgery to go and another couple days in the hospital but should be fine soon! Thankful to still be on this great planet! Love y'all!"

While series regulars Lisa Vanderpump, Brandi Glanville, Yolanda Foster, Kyle Richards and Kim Richards all returned it was likely the newcomers that helped to give those numbers a boost.

Like everything in life, it's all about timing. It's funny, when I went on to "Melrose Place" it was Year 5. This is Year 5 of "Housewives" ... To be honest with you, after talking about it with my husband, it's been a really great gig for me. It felt right, to be honest with you ... and I like an adventure, I was looking for an adventure."

The actor took over the role, which was recast after Michael Muhney was fired late last year amid a storm of controversy, knowing that he may have a bit of an uphill battle when it comes to winning over fans.Muhney's performance on "Y&R" kept longtime fans glued to their televisions, and after his last scenes finally aired this past January the show's ratings plummeted. Muhney's fans were vocal about how they were not going to support the show once he left it, and then they appeared to back up those words with action. Part of the issue was that Muhney was fired due to allegations of sexual harassment, and then not only were charges not filed, but "Y&R" actually considered rehiring him this past summer, leading many to believe he should never have been cut in the first place.

McCullough took part in ABC's 2012-14 Directing Program, and it was just announced that she has landed her first real directing gig. McCullough will be directing an upcoming episode of "KC Undercover," Disney Channel's new comedy starring Zendaya Coleman.McCullough announced the news via her official Twitter and, ironically enough, she is not the only veteran soap star to decide to leave a plum acting job in favor of working behind the scenes. Allison Sweeney's final scenes as Sami Brady on "Days of Our Lives" aired last week, and after 22 years in character she, too, is excited to direct.
