• Jack White's 6 Best Guitar Tracks: 'Seven Nation Army' and...What Else?

Yesterday marked the 40th birthday of Jack White, perhaps the most influential individual in the modern rock market. We've been following him since he burst onto the scene with The White Stripes, the self-titled debut album of his most popular band, and he hasn't lost a step in the last 14 years and numerous bands and solo projects. It may be too bold a statement to label him as the greatest symbol of rock music in the 21st Century, but we have no problem labeling him as the most important guitarist of the last 15 years. It's tough to find a song from White's catalogue where his six-string doesn't command attention, but Music Times reached in to choose just six of our favorite guitar cuts.
  • Where Next For Third Man Records? Our Predictions: London, Austin and...Malta?

Jack White has always had his hometown Detroit's back, whether that means building baseball fields, paying off the debts of the local Masonic temple or—in this case—opening a new location for his Third Man Records. The rocker made headlines all over the nation yesterday when he announced that his label would be opening a new retail store (with office space) in Michigan, expanding from its current headquarters in Nashville. It got us at Music Times wondering, where is he likely to expand to next? Here are five cities that may be the next place to open a Third Man Records location (hint: New York City ain't one of them. White noted recently that he dislikes the city strongly).
  • Renée Zellweger's Musician Beaus: Kenny Chesney, Jack White and More

Taylor Swift has become well-known/notorious for her slew of big-name boyfriends, but one other celebrity has had her fair share of famous beaus: actress Reneé Zellweger. She's dated at least five prominent musicians, from Kenny Chesney to Jack White, and even married one. Check out the list of her famous musical beaus.
  • Where Has Bob Dylan Not Played in 'Never Ending Tour'? Alaska and Africa Craving Some Attention

Jack White has certainly found his way around but he's got nothing on Bob Dylan, the ultimate road warrior. The folk icon has been enrolled on his "Never Ending Tour" since 1988, and the statistics demonstrate just how far he's gone. As of a report from 2013, Dylan had played 2,500 shows in more than 800 cities and travelled more than 1,000,000 miles...enough to have travelled to the moon and back by bus...twice. With a travel log like that, it's even more interesting to check out where the performer hasn't been, versus where he actually played. We found some interesting anomalies since updating the numbers for the past two years. Alaska, Africa and India are craving some Dylan in their lives.

Fittingly, the album will be out on Record Store Day April 18.

  • Music Times 25 Best Songs of 2014: Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Hozier, St. Vincent & More

2014 was the year of a thousand controversies: Taylor Swift pulled all of her music from Spotify, Sun Kil Moon started a feud with The War On Drugs, Jack White accused The Black Keys of ripping him off (again), and almost nobody went platinum. When you put all of that aside, however, what you're left with is a bunch of incredible songs, which is really what it's all about. Here are the 25 best songs from 2014, as determined by Music Times writers Ryan Book, Caitlin Carter, Joey DeGroot, Kyle Dowling, and Carolyn Menyes.
