After Rumors of Divorce and Abuse, Mel B and Stephen Belafonte Spend Holidays Together
It seems that only Mel B — Melanie Brown — herself knows the real situation going on behind the scenes with her husband Stephen Belafonte, and she is bound and determined to keep it that way — at least for now. The former Spice Girl was taken to a London hospital Dec. 11 and then missed a taping of "The X Factor" two days later — a major no-no. All sorts of rumors and innuendo spread, but finally Mel B spoke up on social media, insisting all is well.It had been alleged that Belafonte is abusive, a claim that has even been made by Mel B's mother, and that when she returned to work on "The X Factor" she had several noticeable bruises on her. On Instagram Sunday, Dec. 28, she posted a photo of herself with her husband that was captioned, "This is for my fans havin problems with my Twitter will be back soon! I'm very good was very polly but much better now and for the record my hubby never would lay a hand on me sorry took so long but any response fuels rumors #lovemyfamily #lovemyfans."There were also rumors that Mel B's hospitalization was because of an accidental overdose and afterward she reportedly was afraid to leave London because she was dreading having to return to the States to deal with things with Belafonte. -
'X Factor' UK Finale Had Worst Ratings Since 2005; Simon Cowell Thanks Those Involved
Simon Cowell returned to U.K.'s "The X Factor" this season, but he did nothing to stem the show's ratings decline. Sunday, Dec. 14, marked the fourth straight year the season finale dropped its viewership numbers, with only 9.4 million tuning in, compared to 9.7 million last year. Still, Cowell was positive about the show on social media and sent a friendly tweet to those who helped out this year:We just got home. What a great night! So happy for @Bhaenow . Sad for @FleurEast. But what a final! I felt very proud tonight. — Simon Cowell (@SimonCowell) December 15, 2014I want to say a huge thank you to every single person who worked on the show this year. — Simon Cowell (@SimonCowell) December 15, 2014"Billboard" reported the finale numbers for every season of the show and noted that this year's 9.4 million mark was The X Factor's lowest since 2005, when it drew 9.3 million.Cowell already expressed regret this year for his handling of the American version of the show, which he decided to cancel in February. -
Simon Cowell Denies 'X Factor' and Sony Conspired to Have Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" Released Early
Music labels are the evil empire, or so musicians tell us all the time. Do this, do that...but how far would a label go to force their signees' hands? Would they collaborate in a conspiracy with a major television program? Simon Cowell says "no" but that's exactly what some are alleging what happened when X Factor contestant Fleur East performed Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" last weekend.
