  • Jennifer Aniston Praises Angelina Jolie, Wishes the Media Would Stop Being so Petty

Even though Jennifer Aniston has spent the last several months in a very zen-like place, it's still unlikely that anyone would have expected her to ever praise the woman that helped destroy her marriage and yet, that's exactly what has happened! While the media has spent years wondering out loud what it would be like for Aniston and assumed faux, Angelina Jolie, to be at the same red carpet event, she has really come full circle with everything. Not only is the actress not slamming Brad Pitt's new wife, but she actually praised her in a recent interview.
  • Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston Both Snubbed by Academy for Oscar Nominations

Now Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie really do have something in common besides both being married to Brad Pitt at one point or another. This morning, both of them were snubbed by the Academy when it came time to announce the official 2015 Oscar nominations. Jolie was angling for Best Director for her (actually quite amazing) work on "Unbroken," while many believed that Aniston would be acknowledged for her work in "Cake."
  • 'Birdman' and 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' Lead the Oscar Nominations with 9 Each as Aniston, Adams and Jolie Were All Overlooked

Usually in the weeks leading up to the Oscar nominations, a pattern from other awards shows begins to develop and we kind of have a clue of who will ultimately be nominated for Hollywood's top prize. This year is a bit different because so many of the categories are wide open with numerous strong contenders. This morning, "Star Wars" director JJ Abrams and last year's Best Director winner Alfonso Cuaron announced the first 12 categories live while Chris Pine and Academy President Cheryl Boone Pine followed with the next 12 categories. When all was said and done, "Birdman" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel" are leading the nominations with nine each. There are also a few surprises in there. Jennifer Aniston has been acknowledged with a few best actress nominations for "Cake," but she was not on the Academy's radar and neither was perennial favorite Amy Adams. Also missing was a nod for Angelina Jolie's directing in "Unbroken."Check out a rundown of some of the major categories and tell us your thoughts!
  • Angelina Jolie Is Upset That 'Unbroken' Has Been Overlooked During Awards Season

"Unbroken" may only be the second film Angelina Jolie has ever directed, but she set the bar ridiculously high for herself and was therefore expecting to be acknowledged. If you told us even a year ago that this film would be overlooked, even at the Golden Globes, while Jennifer Aniston scored a nomination instead it would have been unimaginable. Yet that is what has happened and it has reportedly left Jolie reeling.Even though this past year was loaded with personal highlights, such as her marriage to Brad Pitt, Jolie is still a workaholic who expects to do well enough to rack up award nominations. According to a report by Page Six, she is upset she and "Unbroken" were overlooked. Sources close to the voting system claim that if it was a few years ago, her star power would have been enough to get a nod or two from the foreign press. This year has been packed with great projects, and the press felt that, comparatively, "Unbroken" was not good enough. Not measuring up is unfamiliar territory for Jolie, so no wonder she is upset by the snub. She does still have a chance to grab an Oscar nomination, though. Those will be announced Thursday morning, Jan. 15, and Jolie is likely looking for some validation that her work is worthy of the Academy's acknowledgment this year.
  • Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Had a Civil Service in the States Long Before Their French Wedding

Is it really surprising to learn that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were actually legally married long before they formally swapped vows last August in France? The actress recently decided to come clean and admit that she and Pitt called a justice of the peace and signed on the dotted lines to make their 10-year union a legally binding situation before they even considered planning a French celebration.According to a source at "Us Weekly," as far back as last March Jolie was telling one of its reporters that she was already married and now it sounds like she may have been telling the truth even then. None of this is really surprising because, according to French law, in order to marry legally in that country you need to be a permanent, full-time resident of whatever part of the country you are choosing to marry in. While Jolie and Pitt have fabulous property in France, their main home is in the U.S., so they needed to be legally married here first in order to even have a French wedding. What is interesting is how for years Jolie really downplayed the importance of another marriage and, when it came time to go ahead and marry Pitt, she made it sound like she was doing it for the kids. But if they really were married for months before their August ceremony, then maybe it really was more important to Jolie and Pitt than they originally let on. It is interesting because this is one of those A-list couples that proves that if a celebrity really wants to keep things private, they can. There are always ways to get around the paparazzi in order to have normal life events — even for people like Jolie and Pitt!
  • Did Angelina Jolie Purposely Starve Herself While Working on 'Unbroken'?

"Unbroken" first rolled into theaters on Christmas day and already the numbers have been looking pretty strong. Angelina Jolie has promoted the heck out of this film in the last six weeks and while it's not her first directorial venture it certainly became a serious labor of love. The actors involved in "Unbroken" have praised Jolie and claim that working with her has been a fabulous experience. They also have expressed concern because the overworked mom of six barely ate on set.
  • A Golden Globe Snub, Insulted by a Sony Executive, Chicken Pox: Angelina Jolie Might Be Having the Worst Week Ever!

This is definitely not the best week of Angelina Jolie's life, that's for sure. While she has been traveling all over the place to successfully promote the new film that she has directed, "Unbroken", things that are beyond her control have to be weighing heavily. First Jolie's name was connected to those leaked Sony emails, with studio execs calling her "spoiled" and "marginally talented", then she was shut out of both SAG and Golden Globe nominations. Now Jolie is going to have to sit out several appearances connected to "Unbroken" because she has been diagnosed with the chicken pox.
  • Angelina Jolie Has Been Shut Out of Golden Globe Nominations While Jennifer Aniston Grabs Another Nod for 'Cake'

The Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, and there seems to be one name surprisingly missing from the list: Angelina Jolie. Earlier this year, the actress was praised for her work in "Maleficent" and many insiders believed it would easily fetch her a nod or two at awards time. Then "Unbroken" came out, and Jolie's directorial skills were praised. In spite of both efforts, Jolie's name is absent from the list of Golden Globe nominations.Adding more than a little bit of sting to Jolie's being slighted is the fact that Jennifer Aniston has not only secured a leading actress nomination today but also grabbed a SAG nod yesterday morning, Dec. 10, as well. Aniston's work as a chronic pain sufferer in "Cake" has been praised since it was first previewed in September. We heard early on that her performance was generating Oscar buzz, but it was not until she actually started turning up on the list of nominees for other awards did anyone really take that too seriously.
  • Angelina Jolie Is Rumored to Be Starving Herself to Stay Thin Again

Angelina Jolie has been earning rave reviews for her dedicated work on "Unbroken." The star recently admitted that she has enjoyed directing so much that it is likely that she will be trading her time in front of the camera for a spot behind it in the next phase of her career. Her work in chronicling Louis Zamperini's life as he went from an Olympic-level athlete to a POW has been considered Oscar-worthy, and the actors who she directed have offered up nothing but praise for her. They have also mentioned the fact that Jolie ate little and lost weight while working on the film. This little detail has caused the usual rash of insinuations in the press that Jolie has some food issues that flare up when she is under stress. It is not the first time we have heard the whispers and it is unlikely to be the last, either. She is the kind of A-list celebrity who ends up having her every move over-analyzed. Before hooking up with Brad Pitt and having six children, Jolie was known for her wild ways and a lot of unhealthy habits. Perhaps not eating enough is one of the few that has stuck.

Though the track will not come out until December 15 as part of the soundtrack scored by Academy Award nominee Alexandre Desplat ("The King's Speech," "The Imitation Game," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"), a snippet has found its way online via a Sky Movies Christmas advertisement, via "Billboard."The advertisement gives you only a small taste of what to expect from "Miracles," but you hear the quintessential Coldplay sound with emotive piano melodies and moving violins. We do not hear any vocals from Chris Martin because of the advertisement, but it is a good teaser of what is to come from "Miracles."
