A source close to Simmons claims he is terrified of the surgery, but without it doctors have told him he will never exercise again. The fitness expert has apparently let the fear overwhelm him to the point of inactivity. Rather than take the necessary steps to heal his body, he has stayed hidden, growing more depressed as time goes on.
