"Trap Queen" rapper Fetty Wap is having one of the best years ever in his flourishing career as his catchy singles have been ruling the summer. However, it turns out that Fetty Wap's refusal to wear a prosthetic eye has inspired a young boy for the better, proving that his vulnerability and self-confidence could be far the greatest gift he shares with his younger fans. According to Brenda Vaden, the mother of a young boy named Jayden who suffered the loss of his eye at the age of one due to eye cancer, she is eternally grateful to the rapper for being a shining example and using his platform for the greater good.
Jayden's story went viral after his mother went on social media singing Fetty Wap's praises for inspiring her son to be comfortable with being different. The mother explains that, thanks to Fetty Wap, Jayden had officially opted out of wearing the prosthetic eye he had been wearing since infancy after Retinoblastoma (eye cancer) robbed him of his eye.
In Vaden's heartfelt Instagram post, she shares, "Jayden, let it be known, is a Fetty Wap fan, a real fan, not like me ha! Well, today, after weeks of asking, Jayden is venturing the world without his prosthetic. I of course am a wreck because this world can be cruel, but so proud of our Boogies. This young rapper unknowingly gave Jayden something we weren't able to give him-the confidence to be different - and I am grateful to him."
The rapper responded to the mother's praises sharing his own response in the comment section of her touching post saying, "All I wanna do is show ppl that it's not how you look or what you see it's how you see it and what you're looking for from yourself".
The rapper is set to drop his self-titled debut album next week (September 25th). The cover art appropriately boasts his signature missing eye as the focal point. Symbolically telling the world to accept him -- flaws and all.
