Thursday, the "Beautiful Girls" music video by Sean Kingston officially crossed 1 billion views on YouTube (Sept. 8). The same happened with Marshmello and Bastille's "Happier." They're not new hits, but the fact that they are still being listened to or watched to date, is certainly a mean feat.

Kingston's visual oscillates between the present day and a 1950s-inspired retro fantasy as he swoons over the untouchable women of the song's title.

Released on May 26, 2007, the lovestruck track sampled Ben E. King's classic "Stand by Me" and became the Jamaican-American newcomer's breakthrough record, eventually topping the Billboard Hot 100 and reigning for four consecutive weeks that summer. The 2018 collaboration between Marshmello and Bastille has brought listeners so much joy over the past four years that it is now a member of YouTube's Billion Views Club.

Thursday, September 8th, the video platform confirmed that the "Happier" video by Marshmello and Bastille has crossed one billion views. The visual depicts iCarly actress Miranda Cosgrove going through a sequence of growing pains that are alleviated by the presence of a fuzzy buddy.

In the music video, Cosgrove's dog-a present from her father-dies, but history is repeated when the daughter of an older version of Cosgrove receives a puppy for her birthday. Marshmello revealed in the YouTube video description how "Happier" came to be, as well as his personal connection to the song and why he felt obliged to create it.

"When @bastilledan sent me happier for the first time I was taken back. The amount of emotion that you could feel in the lyrics was crazy. As I listened to the song more and more it reminded me of so many things I've been through in my life. Toxic relationships, letting go of things I didn't want to and just situations where happiness came with a sacrifice," the record producer, born Christopher Comstock, shared

He added that he recently lost his best buddy, companion, and lifelong companion so he wanted the music video to reflect the anguish we experience when we lose or give up something, as well as the natural cycle of life. He also hopes the video can make people feel closure for whatever they need to be done with and just feel happier.

"Happier" was a hit for both Marshmello and Bastille, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and spending 52 weeks there. The song was even more popular on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, spending a total of 69 weeks at the top.
