Although the venues won't be as spacious as those he occupied when opening for Toby Keith, Eric Church and Brantley Gilbert, but the independence will be nice, we're sure.
  • 'Rocketman' Elton John Film Casts Tom Hardy

    This summer there was talk that an Elton John film would be happening. Deadline.com confirmed this to be true when FilmDistrict bought the rights to the musical biography, a script by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot). Now it's official that Rocket Pictures' Rocketman has a lead for the film: Tom Hardy, who has been in thrillers like The Dark Knight Rises, Inception and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He was once one of Variety's "10 Actors to Watch" and we're still watching him. But is he musical? According to the TomHardysPinky account on YouTube, Hardy has been busy with a lot of rapping.

    We already told you that Miley Cyrus will be at the MTV European Music Awards, and now MTV has announced her partner in crime Robin Thicke will be there as well. But there's more to expect than a stale repeat of the VMAs. It's the 20th anniversary of Snoop Dogg releasing Doggystyle, so Snoop will be there to celebrate with a performance. Imagine Dragons is another name added to the list of Katy Perry, the Killers and Redfoo (LMFAO) who is hosting.

    Rick Ross has taken a turn remixing Lorde's smash hit "Royals." The rapper adds more bass and a few verses to the track. Interestingly, Ross raps about the very hip-hop, consumer culture that Lorde is tackling in the song.
