  • Taking Child To Pink Concert Not Bad Parenting Says NJ Judge

Taking a child to a concert can be a bonding moment for a parent and their kid. When the child is young, having the parent chaperon can be the only way that the kid is able to attend the show. This was called into question last year when a mother took her daughter to her first rock show -- a Pink concert at Newark's Prudential Center in New Jersey. The father of the child and the woman's ex-husband accused the mother of "bad parenting" and used the concert as a centerpiece in an ongoing custody battle over the 11-year-old girl. New Jersey Superior Court Judge Lawrence R. Jones ruled in an expansive 37-page decision, writing that the mother "in no way, shape or form exceed the boundaries of reasonable parental judgment" by bringing her daughter to the concert.

The story of how this all came to be has been vague, especially for a 21-year-old artist who has garnered buzz over the past few years on the internet, but has not had a major radio hit. Both aren't immune to brining out the stars and celebrities to help garner some public support and put more people in the seats, though the NBA is much more prone to using this marketing technique (see the Celebrity game during All-Star Weekend). Despite having the second best record in the whole league, the Atlanta hawks still had trouble getting people in the seats on a nightly basis. They first called upon Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz for a day where he performed several times and introduced the players, while also creating some awkwardly funny online videos for the team. Now Ludacris has the honor of performing during Game 2 of their Hawk's series against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday in Atlanta.
  • TIDAL's Download Numbers Plummet While Pandora, Spotify Thrive

TIDAL continues to make headlines, but recently the tide has turned against the service that is perceived as elitist by many. With its starstudded launch, headed by new owner Jay Z, who was flanked by a who's who list of the biggest stars in music including Beyoncé, Usher, Kanye West, Daft Punk, Jack White and others, the service has amassed considerable momentum. According to a BGR report, new data shows that it has lost a lot of that in one key category - downloads. The app, which briefly cracked the top 20 of the Apple app store two weeks ago, now languishes out of the top 750.
